No worries rasheed.
I guess my declaring "protection of investment" might have sounded and seemed like quite a lame excuse for not being willing to freely provide the diagram and information.

However, today i dug out an old copy of a prepared sales document for this project that i hope will allow you and everyone to see first hand just how much and deeply i really did invest in this TB / T4 lead replication / reproduction project.

My DIY cables are finished, i needed to make the DTC4007B extension cable and a number of J1962 leads, in the end my switch box contains the Blue, Red, Yellow and Green cables.

It was fun making them and couldn't have done it without the help of my local MG dealer who allowed me to take their leads apart and meter them out.

The Burndy type connectors used are still available and sold as Souriau MBG connectors, the adapters i made myself using Nylon 6.6 and turned them on my lathe and a local engineering shop allowed me to use their equipment to tap a PG11 thread in one end and a M20 or M16 in the other for the cable gland.

Nice one Phil :)

Glad to see you got there in the end.

I am guessing that the configuration is done by the RH rotary control and the resistance done by the LH one.

What did you use for the extension cable BTW?

I noted on the origional extention that the cores were different sizes.

Have you tried it on the Airbag yet?

If you have trouble, don't automatically blame the lead, i recall getting some message of the TB that the comms is known to be problematic and you need to try lots of times before looking for a problem in the Lead / ECU / Wiring.

Well it wasn't planned that why as i made them up on the fly but yes resistors are on the left and the j1962 config on the right. i would have liked to use a single stackable rotary wafer switch but again couldn't find any and new ones were quite expensive to use on something that may not have worked!

Most of my parts came from RS & Ebay as i couldn't find a supplier of cable that wasn't selling it on 100M drums but in the end i used 16-2-12D cable for the extension and 7-2-12C for the switch box.

I have the grey SRS lead anyway so that one isn't included in this version due to limitations of the switches, perhaps version 2 will include it if i can find the schematics of the black j1962 lead (hint hint ;))

iv got the cables and discs for most models, where abouts are you? im intrested to now were you downloaded the software from as i would love to have a laptop system up and running

You will also need the hardware, its not just cables and software lol, my location is as per my profile details.

Sorry but i didnt download them!

Looks fantastic. Any idea of the price? I'd like to buy one just in case i break my brick box.

Ahhhhh These cables dont replace the 'brick', the T4 has that interface built into it, so if yours does break then you will need a replacement.

Hi,
Help !
I have a T4 Mobile +, DTC 4021B (in romania, testbook are very rare), and i have friends with 2003 Range Rover(:)Air suspension reset) & Land Rover in 2001 and want to help them....
I need (buy) the CD software for these Land Rover models (DRGTL. ..., DRG ...)
If you have software for all models of Land Rover / Range Rover up 2005 is super

Sincerely,
Marcell

Hi

I have bought the full Omitec MG Rover professional Kit and the LandRover Pro Kit too. This comes on two laptops (run it on one though) with all the leads etc. for both makes, and the T4 box.

2pt1bax.jpg

It comes with the discs for the whole range for both makes (limited obviously till ford IDS took over the landrover).

Got a Omitec Omiscan as well which fills the holes in the OEBD market and will do most things you need to most vehicles...

It will do everything you need.
I have a lot of other diagnostic stuff including the Avon Diagnostic kit for the earlier MG Rover 5AS fitted vehicles..

We also use the Advanced Diagnostics kit as well

The software comes 'locked' to the Supplied PC (basically win7 x64 OS and modified BIOS file..) that tries to lock you out from -altering the system lockout .

We basically do most diagnostics on MGRovers and some LandRovers..also fobs and repairs to the BCU's etc..

@phil ~ nice cables you made ~ you can get the original conns from the same company that made the originals still.
I also play with a bit of programming for a pastime.

Kev

Anyone who has some cable info on the multi cable Phil has made here?
Or just info on the RED cable as I need the red cable.
I am just trying to build me my own multi cable with switchable "colors"
