Anyone who has some cable info on the multi cable Phil has made here?
Or just info on the RED cable as I need the red cable.
I am just trying to build me my own multi cable with switchable "colors"

Have you looked at the dates on the previous posts?

Oh, and hello.

Hehe Yes, they are from the early stoneage !!!
But there still might be someone that reads this and actually has the pinout and knows the resistor value from the red connector. The green one would also be nice to have the info from.

I have now finally found out how to get the T4 up and running with iso's made of all the testdiscs I have managed to get my hands on for both LR ,MG and Rover's.
For Rovers I run RDS 5.06 and LR RDS 7.06.
Hopefully I will get access to some of the measurent tools for the T4 so I can reverse them too.The goal is to make a multi box that does most of the different stuff in a simple box with a switch or a mcu to select different cable set ups.

A Question relating to a very old thread.....
Is it possible for some very kind person to point me in the direction of the T4 Data for the Freelander 1 please?
I'm testing the software with a SERIES of cables, dongles and adapters... hopefully I will have something to do the job I require.
Cheers
Wayne

Hi all I'm looking for a copy of t4 test book for L322 range rover can anyone help out

I have managed to get hold of a copy of Testbook T4 version 7 software installed on an old laptop and I am now looking for a copy of the diagnostic cd for my range rover L322 if anybody has a copy that you wouldn't mind sharing could you upload it to a download site I would be very grateful. :D

I am also looking to where I can get hold of a set of cables for the T4 software I know it runs over ethernet and not USB but if anybody knows of anywhere I can get these from for a reasonable price I would be very grateful. If I get hold of a set of cables and a disc I would be willing to share the system with people for free just to help out others. :)

Thanks
Matt

The T4 Testbook is a Land Rover Diagnostic system.....it does indeed exist and is the mainstay of the diagnostics available to the Main Dealers and independant garages.

For the DIY Consumer there is the Blackbox Solutions Faultmate, Lynx, All Comms, Bearmach Hawkeye, Snap On Solus Gap Diagonstics IIDTool....to name a few....

Whats your issue you are trying to resolve?

I have replaced the front driver side strut, it originally had Delphi suspension which I replaced on one the one side due to a leak with the after market dunlop version. Since replacing it the self levelling is not correcting the hight.

I have the Delphi diagnostic which is great for everything but its not giving me any faults or the ability to reset the self levelling.

Testbook isn't as simple as just downloading it. The program software is just one part of it. The other part is the vehicle interface hardware and cables - which seem to be pretty expensive, if/when you can find them.

Occasionally there are T4 systems that come up on well known auction sites - but they don't hang around for long.

If you are looking for your own diagnostics, then I would recommend looking at the various aftermarket options. I have a P38, and have diagnostics for them from Blackbox Solutions, but I think there are a few other options for L322.

I listed the Home User options above!!

If when replacing the strut, you disturbed the height sensor, then you'll need to recalibrate the heights....

Generally, if the sensor is not disturbed, no recal is required.

Holy thread resurrections !
But since we are here, a quick question regarding T4.
When an Indy was having a look at my RR last year he ran a very sophisticated and expensive diagnostics tool on it, can't remember the name but over £10K I think , and it said there was a couple of Firmware / Software upgrades available for the Engine ECU but we didn't have the balls to try it incase it bricked my car.
My Faultmate can't update the software but has anyone ever found a way to update it?
The main dealer looked at me in disgust when I mentioned an 04 plate and said if they can find a working copy of T4 they would flash my ECU but if it kills it they want £700 + Vat for new Engine ECU, which I think means feck off with your old piece of $hite:)

He's right to be cautious. A few years ago Jag did an upgrade that caused pre-2003 cars to brick when trying certain things. Older software worked perfectly.

There is no point in trying to update it,all those cars run fine, petrol or diesel on the software they came out with. The only software update that was ever really needed was on the EAS to give the compressor an easier life on the 02-06 L322's.

The Jag one was on reprogramming new keys to the car! :-o
