got a air lock heaters not to hot and the exspansion tank stone cold changed thermostat tonight going to drain down tomorrow flush out and refill the systerm hope it fixes it

Make sure the small pipe from the header tank and thermastat housing isn't blocked. Also try over filling the header tank and running until hot and check the heater if working. Let it cool and drain to the correct level and see if the air lock comes back when hot. If it does do a block test to check exhaust gas in the cooling system. The problem you have is often a sign the head gasket is blowing into the water jacket and causing an air lock. Also each time you run it make sure you bleed the air out the to of the rad and thermastat housing.

hi kris yes the pipe from the header tank to the thermostat housing was blocked.Flushed throw new thermostat all working fine now heaters are hotter,fingers crossed.
