Should be opening around April. SCC extended the TRO on it.

Wether it opens or not is a different matter....

The repair work was completed on the that lane ages ago, really taking there time re-opening it. The council have completly damaged the lane, it's unnatural for a byway to be that flat, just going to get scum up there in Transit tippers dumping crap when it does open.

Some **** on a dirt bike hurt themselves going down it apparently, I am 100% sure they were not going down to very quick  Had to be airlifted away apparently.

Just in case the link doesn't work, it is basically saying that the council are thinking of closing those lanes for good.

Bearing in mind they should have re-opened back in April 2009, the date keeps getting pushed back. Have heard some parts are now open though, guessing it the rocky hill climb around Gomshall that remains to be closed.

That is the bit that's still closed, if your coming from the Ranmore road end the lane is closed just after the right turn that goes down passed the wood yard. Can't really call the hill a rocky hill anymore, cycled down it a few weeks back and it's flatter than most tarmac roads. Shame the council can't get the tarmac roads as good, you know the ones that thousands of people have to use everyday that still have massive holes in them.

Does it still have those muddy and watery area at the Ranmore Road End, or have they gone also to.

It was a good lane when it was all rocky, gave a good challenge especially with no diff lock at the time
