Hi Guys, not oened the sunroof for ages but today when water ran into the passenger side footwell my first thought was it chucked down last night maybe the sunroof drainage pipes are blocked. Pressed the switch to open the sunroof - nothing no slide, pressed the other way tilt worked then when I tried to go the other way nothing again now no movement at all. Checked the fuse that is ok so thinking maybe the motor is caput. Any opinions most welcome.

thanks in advance

thanks Keith I will have a look at that but it is not working either way now but I can try a different switch.

Switch pack is the usual problem Sometimes a good wash with something like Aeroclene 50 does the job.:)

Hi Keith, I have the switch pack off and it would appear that the switch is all enclosed and I cannot see a way to remove the cap in order to access the contacts. Do you know if there is a way to pry the top off the switch?
I can open and close the sunroof with the sunroof key so that would suggest the drive cables are working. The sunroof motor turns in the forward direction only but does not move the sunroof panel. The computer reports 'sunroof not set' Do you think it is possible the motor has failed, that is my best guess.
Thanks for your help and patience

If the motor turns but the sunroof doesn't move, possibly the motor drive has failed, however I'd still go for the switches first. I've never had to have the switch pack apart but as sassanach says there is a thread on taking it apart.

Hi Keith, You are right about the motor drive. I dropped the motor and run it but the cog did not turn. Ordered a replacement from roverviews and it was here pdq, took less than an hour to fit. All good now.
