I see you've started on the Suffix A and the CSK, can I ask where you are planning on getting your panels from as it appears various companies do panels and some do more than others.
 
New footwells arrived from Paddocks today, with a crossmember and two sets of body mounts.. bugger i only ordered 1 crossmember not two. complete sills should be here next week.

Have two rear wings for the Suffix A to replace the cheesy fiberglass panels that were on the car.. a replacement bonnet to replace the swiss cheese one, two upper tailgates year appropriate.

Stripped out the wiring loom today on the Suffix A. lots of chock block connectors in there.. that'll be fun

Removed the door wiring harnesses on the CSK ready to pull the doors.. some arse muncher in the past butchered the wiring on the drivers door and rewired it using .. chockblocks and nothing but blue cable and insulating tape so have a mass of wires.. all in blue.
 
and another joy with the CSK.. another different arse muncher when fitting the CD changer drilled straight through the side wall in the boot area and used self tappers... straight into the fuel expansion tank.

Attacked the driver side footwell today.. Cut out the old rotten footwell to find.. another footwell behind it,, rotten and patched as well..

New Footwell and inner and outer sill aligned for tack welding in place. Awaiting replacement A and B Pillars first..

Funny you mention it Grrrr i was thinking today i should just sodding order all new panels, kind of like a flat pack range rover shell.
 
Been a bit of a busy week, this week on the classics..

On the Suffix A, got all the rot cut out of the front end, the tinworm had got into the bulkhead where the wheelarch meets the footwell...

A and B pillars all welded up, new footwells in, rest of the body mounts removed, along with engine bay wiring, brake pipes, may well remove the bodyshell tomorrow, .. may do the rear cross member before hoisting the body off first though. rather than wresting with corroded bolts around the front wheel arches, i just ran the angle grinder through them, they'll be replaced anyway

The fuel tank was so rotten it had unzipped with rust along the full length by the cross member.. the rear chassis section which was rusted to dead basically fell away when the rear body mounts were removed..

here's how rotten the rear chassis was.. just ran the angle grinder across the top to cut it away..

Pulled the fua tank out of the CSK as well.. how often do you buy a car with a half a tank of fuel.. the only time a range rover has too much fuel in it is when it's on fire... or you need to drain the tank.

The chassis on the CSK was waxoiled previously, so steadily removing all the old waxy coating to refinish the chassis. once the body if off the A, i'll start cutting out the sills and rotten A and Pillars of the CSK. joy !

You really are getting on great guns with those two, keep the pictures coming and I must put some more of mine up soon.
 
when it comes to lifting the bodyshell off, i decided that what with the rust in the inner wings it was simpler to run the angle grinder through them, rather than have the rust weakened points just fold off ( i was also being a bit lazy in undoing the front end panels, corroded up brake pipes etc etc.

used the fork lift method, two long forks through the door, braced with some wood to protect the door tops, with the front wings and front panel removed the center of balance is way aft so had some blocks of steel on the bulkhead top, and a car battery and RSJ off cut in the footwells to counterbalance.. i at least know my welding strong !!

in getting all the rusted panels and rust points out, i've lost count in the amount of cutting disks and softpads i've got through !

Aldi, pack of 10 cutting discs £3.99. I bought some for "thin" metal and had to use them carefully on two cog bushes that were 2in long and 3/4 in thick. Cut through them easily. I used 1 1/2 discs in total.
