I bought a OBD reader from amazon that uses wifi to talk to phone, downloaded a app car scanner, which if reader is plugged in you can watch temp on the screen not sure how good reading is but would give a idea of what was going on, and reader under 20€ and app free
I have a Bluetooth adapter that i use with the torque app, it gives you plenty of data including fuel trims

I know a bloke who was once towing a trailer full of paving slabs, with his TD5 90. He had to change into low range on the motorway, going up a hill.
Must have made him popular!:rolleyes::D
our disco td5 has to go down to second on some hills when towing 3.5 tons, but it is over 20 years old and nearly 200 000 miles at the quarry often it is on max train weight when leaving they are very careful about max weight as if you are stopped over weight they get fined also

Absolutely! You do have to be so careful!

You should try a Series 2A LWB camper and a loaded Sankey. 40 mph all the way up that long rise on the M3 on a holiday weekend. Made sure we have both tanks full and plenty of Scoobbies so we didn't have to stop and risk the wrath of the people we'd help up. .Irony was that this meant that we passed several services where they must have stopped so some got held up twice:rolleyes:

something that came up earlier about transporting a car to UK, Someone I know does house removals From UK to EU, he has a set-up in the lorry so he can move cars from time to time, he had a car to move (as a part load) and has been told that the way the rules are being interpenetrated at the moment if he takes a car from France to UK in the lorry duty we have to be paid on it, if he takes it off the lorry and puts it on the ferry then no duty will be charged

Thanks for telling us this.
Wifey is getting a bit old for driving a long way each day so we were planning to put her car on a trailer and go to our place like that. now it looks as if we'll have to drive it on and off the ferry, (and pay for the wretched thing) then put it on the trailer for the rest of the journey.
Bloody mad.
Will have to see what the rules are on temporary importation. In both countries.
Brexit seems to be bringing us nothing but sh!t.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I've just been refunded a order from Germany. The German shippers made such a mess of the paperwork that the German supplier gave up. I got the stuff in the UK in the end so all ended well but it was interesting.. The order was below 150 Eu and I believe the new rule is that below 150 Eu vat is collected at point of sale. But the German shippers interpreted the form as requiring MY VAT number not the sellers and could not get the paperwork in order. Thing is this is not about Brexit, its a long standing issue with VAT and Brexit has finally exposed it and forced the HMRC to up their game. I would wait a while until they all understand how it works.
