Can' do much on chassis until I get steel and diesel dogs opinion! Found another Little hole which is an easy plate however both suspension mount points need a bit. I got the lot coated then moved onto another task. I thought the arches were double skinned at first and complicated. I then realised it's just a patcwork quilt lol. I'll rip it out and replace as can't stand that bodginess!

silver is what's good

I'm half happy to do that to be honest. I think it can be chopped and fitted then I'll get the outside arch kit. It' This chassis that bothers me. It seems solid behind spring cup but best to remove to check. There' a small hole on inner now there too. Wafer Thin! What I'm hoping is that the spring cup doesn't need chopping off to replace patch! I fear it may be tricky to get alignment right again if it's removed and re fitted.

All cars I've had in past have the shocks within the springs. Do I still need the death roulette spring compressors to remove spring or is there an alternate?

I’ve just read this thread through, great work so far! I’m looking forward to the rest of your work.... I’ve just brought my first Landy (2004 D2) so at the very beginning. It’s great to see that everything seems DIYable with a bit of sense and research.

I'm not expert mate hence thread title. Thankfully, as you can see, people are willing to help and advise. It' nice as you sometimes think that the favours trade and niceness is dying out nowadays! Yeah I think a lot is achievable with time, cash and patience lol. Ive just received my steel so will be cracking on with it shortly. Thanks
