Quite a big job bit doable, even easier if you happen to have a friend with a HIAB that can lift the body off for you.
You'e nailed it on the head. It is a hobby for me. The purpose of it was to learn new skills in something i enjoy and create something. Doing house stuff is ok but it doesn't have an engine so doesn't really keep me entertained lolIts not "that bad"
You should have been there when I was dismantling mine, the burnt out wiring loom on top of all the rust was a challenge, luckily I was self loathing and felt I needed punished for my sins

What about some f@ck off axle stands to just lift the body enough for full access?
Getting the same result butt welding however the gaps obviously so minimal as I'm using straight edgesNow you just need to but two pieces together and practice without blowing through
