Wouldn't the pillar have to be cut first to get the arch plate in? I know what I want to do with the rear and won't need the rear seats - just a set of dickies. I need to buy a deep 18mm too to get those seat bolt mounts out

Yes, but you must fix the pillar in place before you cut through it with a 9!

Something like this, I still have this piece of "C" channel from when I first thought of it, great tool, tack it in place and cut through the door post with confidence in it not moving out of line or dropping at all. if the floor is bad repair that first ;)

Tis a good idea. Was thinking I would need to prop the body in place to do rear cross member too! I think I'll do boot floor after I have done the other bits surrounding. Mainly because I have a costly couple of months and sheet it cheap! The stuff I got the other day to practice on is 1.2mm. I'l try and replicate the angles etc that need to be done I think and practice them.

The wire I removed from the welder was ali. What a numpty. I then had wire snap off just out of reach so had to take welder apart. From here, things improved. My first near useable butt joint. I need to get some decent gloves! Yes it is ugly and the pin holes need addressing (hit and miss with these) but I can't break it! Is it too much penetration?

I'm happy and on my way :D

above and underneath a run in order. Lucky I don't like my conservatory as one door now looks like it' coated in sugar lol. Better do it outside from now on

Did try that lol. It's just user error and fine tuning I think. 1 max didn't seem to penetrate enough and 2 min did nice strong welds. When I turned down the wire feed it just killed it. Got it on 7 at the moment

Evil little f***er to get in the seams. I do use cups and bristle ones but only for final run before deox and inbetween. They don't touch the sides with heavy rust. Also got some flappy disks for my welding.

Was so close to painting yest but resisted and slapped the 3rd round of deox on. @dieseldog69 if possible, I could really do with your help with this section when you have a day. I think around 150mm needs a to come out then the boot support bracket etc back on. Retaining alignment of bits is my concern! Have marked in silver what I think needs chopping.

Grab a big proddy thing and prod firmly (god beating with a hammer works too ;)) around the spring perch, especially behind the spring!

Looks like you need a major repair around that rear top shock mount, it's a bank holiday Monday if you fancy a brew and a bacon sarnie :)

If you are about, even to tell me where to start, I'd really appreciate it. Yes I'll sort breakfast :)

It' All on that side mate chassis wise. It' like the o/s rear has been sat in a grit salt tub lol. The centre what I would call, 'h' beam looks reusable however the cradle mounting also needs ripping out. I'll see what you think. It all overwhelmed me a bit yesterday. I just gotta take one step at a time and learn and hone metalwork skills along the way.

I'm an optimist as Well but I just looked at the whole area yest and thought....woah...
I am just plain stubborn.... but then you think “this really is too much”.
The knack is to fight bite size pieces at a time...... just when you only have half a shell it’s difficult to know where to start. I am hoping a fresh set of eyes will kickstart mine again.
