Sorry for the late reply - I wasn't online much yesterday -I was welding on my D1 ( !!! ).

regarding the seal - as JM says - provided it protrudes from the surface, and the edges are still square and in good nic, then I'd re-use them ... think I did the same on one of ours ...

Torque setting wise, I used 65 Nm, as they are a fine thread. I suspect the precise figure is not that critical - provided they are all the same and they are all tight - it should be fine - obviously, they do have to be tight!

Back on the bsstard fender. I have lost one of the new yrm feet and no idea how. Spent about 30 mins looking for it!
Vent surround in but I haven't run a bead the whole way as it's sputtering like hell on what I assume is rust or paint on other side. I really need the foot. I am ready to do a pillar and foot which then allows me to tie that extended pan and the other pieces together. It's just a new bulkhead really lol. I don't think over 15% of or8ginal is remaining. It's just acting as a template.

Sometimes things go right. I've realised that my trigger isn't great. I must squeeze hard and in doing so she doesn't sputter. Hard to do when your working on 1.2mm but today I'm on 2mm again.
I tidied up two of my repairs and added a plate then added my tank bracket straps.

I'm shooting for corroless by 5

You changed your torch yet?

The cheap torches have a sprung copper blade that the trigger presses against and completes the circuit by making contact against the gas valve block that is the power block and wire feeds through it, it can be that there is a bit of spark erosion on the end of that copper blade?

Stripped it recently but not changed it. I know what you mean. I want something with more feel but not a priority at the moment! Did you Euro your mug?

Not yet, it is on my list of things to do though, every time I think about going near the truck it starts pizzing rain :( like today for example, started nice, had breakfast, went outside and as I reached down to untie the rope it started to rain and the wind whipped up, game over as the rain stopped but the wind was whipping through the parking bay and it's impossible to weld with that caper

Didn't even bother swapping the wheels over as it's so depressing out there not getting the welder hot.

It'll perk up mate. I feel your pain I was sniper welding and luckily I have a wall one side. I always think I'm near the end on chassis them remember just one more thing lol. Rigger and mount next then I must purchase my rear x member!!
