First things to pick up, which you can start at the local farmers or country stores, is a couple of good sized d shackles and some decent rocovery points on the truck to attatch them to, a shovel and a bow saw - only needs to be a cheap one, you won't be using it every day! See a fisherman for a great peice of rope - don'y buy these car towing rubbish things, no good at all. You need something quite strong! Axe could be handy, a few pieces of wood as would maps and a basic compass to help you read the lanes when you are on open ground. That equipment is your basic recovery kit and should be with you at all times off road - there isn't much that you will fall foul of with that in your boot!! lol!
As for the truck, you have tyres, so next would be a lift to give more ground clearance and better approach/departure angles and then you can start thinking about snorkels and winch bumpers with the associated breather kits. You probably will get carried away as we all do!
