right people ant been on here for a long time , so thought i would utilise all your experience ,

had new bcu fitted and syncked up with nanocon all fine untill you go to start it ??
not immobilised as all lights go out on dash etc !
im thinking could be dodgy starter , ive read somewhere its a common fault so ordered a repair kit can this be replaced in situ or easier to take motor out .................. anything else cause this problem i should check aswell
thanks all :D

ps d2 99 model

Sounds like dodgy battery or excessive current drawn.

batts good current at starter just a a little click when trying to turn over

If it's td5 terminal repair kit as part of course.

If your getting dash lights disappear on trying to crank, fundimentally you either have bad battery/bad starter/seized engine or more likely high resistance and voltage drop on cranking current.
clean earths and battery leads

im finking its the little copper parts on starter worn ive got ne parts comming can they changed with starter in place or easier to take it out

Mine did the same thing and it was the copper contacts in the starter motor, replaced them and starts first time now. It's a difficult job getting the starter motor off though, top nut is 15mm i think, bottom two are 13mm from memory. Top one is dificult to get onto.

quite an easy job to get out , so changed all the gubbins over inc plunger but still dont turn over ohhh nd i did a bench test no problem there , so im finking now i must be missing a relay or fuse somewhere ! but where ??

terminal 30 bridged terminals 30-87 to check starter relay , relay lost signal so new starter relay required
