your abit far away from me a think m8 unles you want to bring it up hear lol

no idea where up there is chris..... going to give it a go myself first (will give me either a sence of satisfaction or be scared stiff to put me foot anywhere near it) but i will bear it in mind....

nice work there but can a ask why evrayone uses mig and not stick ?
cos migs easier and cleaner. and i have one.
before i had one, used arc all the time but was a pain when doing the cosmetic bits like disco wheelarches. weld, stop, clean slag, weld, blow thru, stop, clean slag, weld, stop to check, clean slag, notice a bit you missed earilier, grind back, weld, blow thru, etc etc......

mig, clean it, point and press, stop, check, p&p, blow thru, p&p, p&p, p&p, check, p&p etc etc. grind back flush.

nowt wrong wi stick chassis work tho, an its cheaper.
but i still use the mig.....

Glad to know I aint the only one that grinds off more than I actually end up by welding :D
I am sure if I could weigh the rod i use compared to the increase in vehicle weight it would be circa 10:1

am near edinburgh m8 its easy to mig weld if you get it rong just grind it off and start agane easy

ANYWAY - :focus:.

Irons are on, cleaned, and painted. Bulkhead is primed and sealed ready fer a bloody good Waxoil and Shultz.
Decided to look at the steering relay as it's really stiff ( Fnar Fnar :D ). I was really really hoping that this one was gonna pop out with minimal hassle, maybe just a carjack underneath or a good **** with Murray.

No.Such.Luck :mad: I don't wanna go tearing the front crossmember apart, or ferking the realy itself, so I just slid a hollowed out bolt inside the top flange front bolt and injected a fomblin/oil/low friction mix through it.

Problem solved, all is good in the world of relay-i-ness.

Just have to **** around now and get the springs remounted, then it's on to brakes, waterpump, clutch cylinder, filters, lift pump, tappets and electrics.

Then Dashboard, airbox, steering column bearing, lock shearbolts, wiring.
THEN seatbox, seals, windscreen, doors........

easy to weld, but you still gotta know how to use the machine and what to do when you weld the wire to the tip an it spools out from the wire rollers.....

Glad you sorted the steering relay in situ - I was dreading trying to get mine out. However, "Pod" didn't let me down - I undid the bolts and it just plopped out of the chassis :D I'm undecided whether to strip it and rebuild it - looks like a bit of a bastard job!

Stripping it IS a bastard - it's got a high tension spring inside it - which catapults the internal tapered collars, spring, and shaft out at a vast rate of knots - and getting the ****er back in is a sodding knightmare as you have to compress the spring, and turn the lock-washer at the same time.....

IMHO If it turns, then just oil it up and shove it back in ;)

ok rhino - now your getting to the technical stuff and NO BLUDDY PICTURES, how is i supposed to follow ...... remember idiots guide for idiots lol..... it going to be onroad by end of next week at this rate....

LOLZ - it'd be nice, but no hope of that. Probably end of next month, if i'm lucky.
Things are going slowly ATM - work is taking up most of my day, and i'm too pooped when I get hoime to be arsed to go and get dirty.
Just got in from ferking around with the front axle and springs, since the dumb irons are actually in the right pace now, and The drop shackles are threaded on the inner shackle plates, so surprise, surprise the threads are ceased, so it's making the springs are proving to be a little......awkward to re-mount.

U bolts and shackles are soaking in PlusGas ATM, so i can crack them loose and let the axle / springs float a little more.

Nothing really interesting to take any piccies of, so here's a photo or two of the two lowriders i've built from scratch instead:

The Suzuki was a Euro Dancer, and the Regal was a full on Uk hopper.....i'll have to find soem vids sometime and stuff em up. Two of my best builds these two were.

Christ - it's horrible down here, and my garage heater is finding it hard to keep up.
I've managed to get all the bulkhead areas schultzd, heater matrix back in, blower mounted, and front axle back on (finally).

I'm all over the shop ATM, really need to sit down and revisit the work list i made last week.
Ideally I want the dash and seatbox finished, so I can put the inside backtogether and then it's "just" lcutch, brakes, engine, steering, wings and paint.

Don't give up now rhino! You've gotten so far in so little time! It's feckin freezing here in the Midlands too, and I've been on my arse painting the chassis all day...no garage either! :(

what is this world coming to with all you lot moaning about the bluddy weather lol....
i still havent got the feeling back into my fingers yet..... day off tomorrow but back at it on sunday to get this bulkhead off ready for niel to work his magic.....
your gonna need to keep up with the photos rhino........... will give you an excuse to get the missus to bring you a hot cuppa to get your hands round...
