Hey guys , basically ive brouht my first disco :D its a 300tdi . Now for me to insure it realitvly cheaply £590 tft ive had to agree the milage to 5000 and ive been reading that the speedo is controlled electrically well it will be my daily drive and I want to do some pay and plays but the milage will go up , I was wondering if there was any sort of way of blocking thw signal so that when im off road the milage doesnt go up . Any help would be great guys

Have you sat down and calculated what your day to day milage is actually likely to be? 20 miles a day for a five day week doesn't leave a lot of leaway

i do have another car that i can run but its a classic mini that ive just rebuilt so only try run it nice weather . and its a 1994 disco 1 300tdi manual if that helps

or even if anyone knows if i will have a speed sensor fitted or cable ,and if its a sensor whether it controls the mileage

Speed sensor on pass side of the gearbox.2 bolts hole it in place.u wont have speedo or miles goin on it.but you will have rev counter.so youl have to judge speed by revs.

just disconect as per other persons advice, then buy a second hand satnav or simular that`ll give you miles per hour speed...............simples..

you end up with true mph readings then..
