Been a little while since I've been on here so thought I best update my progress. I'm working
my way through a few things that don't work and slowly getting there.
Got to fit a new spring to the drivers door lock as that's still not working properly. Cruise
control, dash switch lights, head light washers, tailgate heated screen and washer jet all need attention.
Got a new spring and dash bulbs so attacking those first

I've also finally Piano Blacked all the wood trim and i'm very happy with how it now looks from how it was

Great rebuild! Looks fantastic in the flesh as i think its the one i have seen parked locally that inspired me to get my RRC soft dash!

Apologies for the very late response but lost all my pc memory a while ago and lost track
of this page.
Good luck with your soft dash.

My last bit of work has been looking at how to refresh the rubbing strips.
There are some non OE available but having seen them in the flesh fitted to a Range
at the classic car show i thought they looked awful.
My first go at this was to remove the ends of the strip carefully with a Stanley blade then
set it up on a milling machine and cut out a slot to remove the chrome centre section. Then
replace this with a new chrome trim. It looks pretty good but is quite involved to do so i spoke to a friend who runs a car wrapping sign printing company and we wrapped another rubbing strip in 3M chrome wrap, we will be doing the strips on my Range in the next few days

I'm on the hunt to replace this plastic trim on the seat base but not found anything yet, i'm told Disco 1 is the same ?
Cleaning leather 038.jpg

Bit of an update and working our way through jobs that are needed to finish it off.

The list i had is getting smaller
SRS fault fixed with a new rotary coupler.
New top tailgate arrived last week to fix the failed heated screen, will also be fitting new
central locking link rod and the piece that fits in the lock, resprayed the handle as well.
Repaired a couple of cracks in the dash bezel and resprayed
Seats have been stripped and new heating elements fitted, i've taken the seat side trims
off and stripped the leather off them so they can be restored and get recovered
The last job on the list is the paintwork and i think i've found a local place to do it but that
will possibly be in the new year, got new corner bumpers to fit when the paint is done
