So readers of my previous posts will know that I have had a bit of a year so far with the Disco.
Anyway, the new fuel pump which went in a few weeks back was registering a quarter tank low and while I could have just gone on the 'miles since fill-up' I decided that it would be better to adjust the float to correct the reading.

Yeah, you're ahead of me aren't you...

So, once it was all back together I primed it as per the manual and it started fine. Went on a short run and all was OK. Went off and got a few litres of diesel and had to prime it all over again and the pump is way louder than before.

Do I pull it all apart again or just cope with the noise and hope it settles?

Put more fuel in,see if that quietens it down,if not then it is how much noise you can put up with, maybe turn the radio up as well.:D:D

Disco 2 TD5, and it sounds like someone is stood behind me with vacuuming up all the bits which fall off with an over-age Henry

Oh the shame... :(

I have now been banned from doing any maintenance more complex than filling the screenwash bottle

Turns out that anyone can make their Disco fuel pump really noisy, you just have to swap the white and black hoses over. But in my defence, why in the name of all that is Holy do you need FOUR hoses from a fuel pump.....one out and maybe one back, that's it, that's all you need.
Could Land Rover do NOTHING in a logical way? 5 cylinders and 4 glowplugs I can understand I mean you are saving some real money there as glowplugs are not cheap like injectors...oh wait, they are cheap as chips compared to injectors.

Mutter mutter mutter

4 pipes as it has 2 pumps in the tank unit, one to filter from bottom pump ,one back from filter to top pump, one to engine and last one return
