Already done HC. Bit iffy as company has multiple names ,similar sounding , all running at same time! Steve we are waaaaaaay past the shudder now but thanks :)
Data that's what weve been looking at on eBay. Oddly enough there are loads of the 2.7 sport engines and loads of the 3.6 V8 but few of the TDs.

TD6 is a good engine. :) Remains in the RR and doesn't end up on eBay.:crazy_driver:

I found an x5 video for the 4.4, the Rave procedure looks pretty straight forward for your mechanic for the TD6 , easier than the petrol I would say

Cheers HC. Problem is my mechanic is a technophobe and not helped by me being extremely helpful and sticking my hammers screwdrivers any other toy I find in the garage in where it's not wanted :D I just want to help!!! So Rave and a video of some type it is ,so he can go step by step.
( of course he's not terrified of getting. wrong and me deciding to build a new patio :5breddevil: )

I've not managed to find a relevant TD6 video but Rave seems ok to follow through however my copy of Rave tries to link to some random landrover website when it comes to removing the viscous coupling.

If it is the same as the 4.4 V8, then have a look at the beginning part of Saint's 'How to' at the following link as removing it without some special tool and a 32 mm thin and very long spanner is tricky. I made one as did Saint and others have bought the official tool but if you have the same then it would be worth having a gen up on it and maybe a close target recce before you open fire !

Thanks HC . Ive had the same issue ref finding a video. Seems to be videos of just about every other repair but not that.
We'll have a good look at Ant's 'how to' and the RAVE before engaging target ;) I'm sure we'll find something that resembles a long spanner :) Ahhhh the joys.

The td6 is the m57 bmw engine (330d 530d x5 etc) because they are such reliable engines they dont command a premium selling second hand on ebay etc.

I would buy a second hand one and get it fitted buy an independent.

Just bought and fitted an engine, not buying and fitting another bloody one just to change the alternator. Seems a tad drastic even for RR :hysterically_laughi: ;)
