Hi,

has anyone seen the smoked effect rear light covers on ebay, if so
has anyone also fitted them. look they would be quite a nice addition to
the rear. Chap selling them says they are road legal (?). Does someone own a set and taken them through a mot, I'm sure some purists would think it's wrong to add this sort of thing, but it's each to their own.

Matey.

Everyone has their own opinions..The lenses are sprayed with a lense tint.
This is available in virtually ANY car spares shop (even Halfords). Is around £7 a can. (more than enougth to do a set of Range Rover lenses) Its a tinted gloss laquer,Is very very easy to apply and everyone will get a perfect finish. Its really idiot proof...The more coats you give it the darker the lenses will go...
Even with lots of coats the light emitted (Brake/sidelight etc) Is'nt reduced by much..Legally you should have a red reflector showing to the rear, which is why the guy on Ebay masked the reflector and left it red...
Ive never left the red reflector un-painted on past vehicles, and have never had a problem with Police (But each to their own!)

If your tempted id suggest a 7 quid aerosol and 20 mins of your time and do it yourself, could even buy a 2nd hand set of orange rear lenses from Ebay (Cost next to nothing as everyone is selling as they swapped theirs to white lenses)..

£100 + £12 P+P Ebay. = £112........Or
£20 old lenses + £7 Light Tint Aerosol + 20 mins. = £27.......

P.s they also sell Red/Blue and Green now as well.......

Speak to Redrange,,He done his Supra ones a week ago...£7 and 15 mins..

Hope this helps..LTel

Thanks for the reply,
certainly would save me a few quid if I went down this route. I'll check it out next time i'm down at halfords.
