Hi all, who has replaced their water hoses with silicone?

I've recently had the expansion tank blow so I've done a bit of work: Changed the head gasket, water pump, P-gasket, thermostat and all the hoses - I figured changing the hoses would help determine whether I had any blockages in the system..

So far I seem to be getting 'leaks' from the joints on or around the the bottom hose, where there is a metal 3-way clip connection. Bit weird as I've run the Vehicle for an hour with no problem then had a leak when parked up after a second run of an hour?

Re connected and sealed tightened all clips, re-bled system, and again, all good for about an hour then on a second trip out I find a puddle under the Disco. Weird.

I've used the clips they supplied, which seem OK.

Just took it out again and found a broken jubilee clip. Sods law:(
Will refit and try again later.

If you think the problem is the hoses change them. Whether you change them for silicone or rubber ain't going to make much difference.

I think you miss the point, payydg...

Yes, I have a leak somewhere, and I think I've identified the problem ie. a jubilee clip. I have the old hoses should there be a problem with the silicone replacements so I can refit them if I'm not happy - and throw some ****s at the supplier.

I was interested in anyone else having any problems with fitting a silcone replacement pipe system just in case there was a 'current' problem.
