is the vcu toast?
Yes I think so. Been testing it for years and watching it "degrade" somehow over time. Test times have increased and the difference in temp change during the Turnip Testing shows it's not increasing it's temp as normal. That would indicate the props are at similar speeds to each other, more than they were previously when spinning differently and warming the vcu as it "activates". This is supported by the One Wheel Up Test results increasing in time. I've taken it oft and will give a final assessment while testing it at room (in our house) temp which is a good comparison to my summer tests at 20 degrees. But it looks like it's on it's way out and I've caught it in time and have results to back it up. So I'm not that unhappy about the cost as I know it's condition rather than just forking out for another. It hasn't actually failed, it showing signs of change at a rate that's caught my eye, which is worrying. Tyres etc are all newish and ok. Tis nearly 12 years old and 34k miles.

this bears out your patience and testing :)

usually we only find out summats wrong when it's too late :(

my vcu has done 25k since the refurb, whilst it feels no different on full lock than it ever has done, i will find the time to conduct the test.

It's always good to have a comparison of your own vcu's results for the future. Even if you only do it once. Just remember the ambient temp and the results and do the test after yer hippo has been at rest for a while. This will give results you can match at a later date if you'll get worried. remember the miles too.
