I have driven a series3 now for 20 odd years and always needed more legroom. It's not that my legs are enormous but just getting older and less bendy. Has anyone thaught of a way of moveing the bulkhead ? Just before I mark out where to put the angle grinder. Chris.

I took the seat back out and put a sheet of camping mat over the bulkhead. Gave me an extra four inches and I think it's better for my back, too.

Or raise the seat up. It won't give directly more length to the cab, but you'll need to bend your knees less, so a similar affect.

Thanks, Sounded good so I tried it but found without the support that the orignal back rest gave it was uncomfortable after a while. Today I sliced the alloy rivets off the cross peice on the BHD to alow movement. Also sliced the alloy spot welds off the flat area of bhd and took a wedge shaped peice out of the box shaped wheel arches. This allowed the bhd to be beaten back but limited by the tank filler hose. the steel cross peice then repositioned itself a full 3" back where it was welded up with small gussets made up to the sides and rebolted to the cross peice. The seat base 4 bolts were then redrilled back 3/4". This may not sound much but the difference was amazing. I shall test drive it tomorrow. chris.

2a is the same distance across the tub as 90/110. 88 Has bulkhead nearer the dash than 109.
