Yeah that's even better but still

I think if you make the laning trip you will shock everyone so that's very commendable :D

I've got a big to do list this week including a re-wire :( I've also decided to get a twin circuit metric calliper off the local breaker just for ease then I'll put the imperial knuckle you gave me on it later this year!

Just stick with it chap. As you have this one in after all this work is there really a worthy benefit in doing it all again?

Why not stick with or sell and do another?

This is getting a replacement 5mm galv chassis so making the most of it. Big block will set it off real nice and even with the small block the car rocks on idle so with big block to gonna be crazy :D

Tax exempt too so want to keep that and don't want to sell as I won't get back what I've put into it or the effort either so would rather continue to mod until it becomes a total monster I'm happy with. I.e blown 454, galv chassis and strengthened axles, one tonne front springs and a few othe mods

Your a nutter! Nuff said :D:D

They're gonna be more than a fiver, can't get them today and I don't need them really so no point. As long as I get a decent pair on it I'm not bothered. These axles don't be on for long

Did some messing today and will be off out again after I finish me coffee

Got the stuck calliper bolt out, nut over the top and blasted it with the stick welder til it was glowing red then it just unscrewed nicely

Tried to run the engine properly to set the dizzy timing........found out why it was being a bastard to run, last owner had set the idle screw to super rich and put the vac advance pipe onto the wrong connection so I wasn't getting any advance when revving and the engine was just flooding.......wondered why my plugs were so black!

Also had to take a rather large chunk out of the drivers footwell to get my exhaust manifold in but I'm nicking my mates mig next weekend to sort it out as I cba doing all that with a stick set

And look :D a gaffer tape water pump belt! It works too :D Alternator bracket is also a good fit :)

Oh also.......if you're parked on a hill and you have under 6L of fuel in your tank you cant run the engine because the fuel pick up wont suck it up  I hooked up the new fuel pump plus filter, put in 5 and its just below the pick up so need to buy more tomorrow

Anyway I believe you've already been warned twice for trolling on build threads so I suggest you **** off before you get your third strike....

Dr_evil,

Have you thought about a header similar to these?http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/sum-g9060/overview/

Not sure where they would set in relation to the frame but would save you some cutting on the floor board. Current set up would make for some warm feet in the winter though. Also in the pic above showing the water pump it looks like the mechanical fuel pump boss is open, can't quite tell as the picture is dark in that area but that will be a big oil leak if open.

Those small block Chevy's are fun and easy to work on. Easy to make power too. Looks like a fun project.

If those are mid exit headers then yes I did but there wouldn't be clearance for the large bore exit pipe, well spotted on the mechanical pump but this is one of those blocks where it's been cast but not machined

The small block is being replaced by a 454 purely because it can be :) will also make a couple of modifications to get that in and I reckon it'll be over the wing and down the side for the headers on that!! Or up and out the wings at the bulkhead using stumpy mufflers in the top of the wheel arch as I have plenty of space there

Wiper spindles, 3 out of 4 callipers fitted, just need to get hold of a metric twin circuit one now for the drivers side

Dropped off brake line measurements and thats about all I can do today :( may fit the alternator later if it stops raining but its not nice outside to say the least!

Gonna pick up some oil for the diffs and transfer box tonight if I get a chance as well as start measuring up the exhaust system not that this engine is staying for long anyway
