looking good are you refitting the military head light fronts I believe the modern lens will fit
the bonnet look like it will clear filter housing ,the green/black think the ambulance had twin tanks

Yes I did think that the Green/ Black had something to do with fuel sender, ambulance did have twin tanks.
Went for the standard crystal clear halogen lights in the end to save all the hassle with mot ect, ordered some should be here Wednesday.
The military headlights I had were all rusted away, to knackered to use, dont have any fronts/ Bezels so will have to order some, they are not cheap either just my luck.
Forgot to take pic of the wires going in to headlight, from wings but sure they are 1 Brown or Black, 1 Red and 1 Yellow. wires from chassis loom are Blue /Whites, and Blue /Red will check as have them written down.

These are wires that lead to Front lights, first pic Drivers side, second Passenger side. should I just run these to headlight bulbs ?
I know some on Drivers side are for Indicators , horn ect.

SO LOOK AT IMAGES THE TOP ONE THE U/B BLUE/BLACK GOES TO R/HAND HEAD LAMP BUT WHERE IS THE OTHER END LOCATED ?.THE OTHERS WOULD HAVE TO GO TO DASH PANEL AND NEW COLUMN SWITCH AS THESES WOULD HAVE BEEN THE FLOOR SWITCH THE U BLUE COULD BE USED TO WIRE FROM COLUMN SWITCH TO LIGHTING SWITCH BUT TEST THAT THE U/W BLUE /WHITE AND U/R BLUE/RED GO TO THE SECOND IMAGE I CAN SEE TWO U/W BUT ONLY ONE U/R ? (IS IT CONNECTED FURTHER UP THE LOOM ) TIME TO BREAK THE METER OUT

Hope you can understand this. The U/B goes up to plug First pic Then to the plug on Left hand side second pic. but comes out other side of plug as U. and back down to Passenger wing . other end of U on plug is just loose so might go up to dash ?
The U/W from Passenger wing goes to same plug then out other end and in to loom then round to Drivers Side wing.

U/R
from Passenger wing goes to plug on Right hand side in second pic pic with 2 coming out other side , one goes in to loom and round to Drivers Side wing. the other goes through dash and is connected to light switch on panel.
So basically the U/W and U/R go ina half circle from one wing round to the other with a spare wire coming out of each going up in to Dash. If you get what I mean.

so you have UR and UW at dash that are linked to said connectors .the horn i assume is fitted somewhere near the front .
the UR , UW and U sheathed together where the old floor switch I would put these through the dash and the single UB they are not needed but do not cut them they
could be useful later on .
So you have the necessary UR UW ,B TO WIRE THE HEAD LIGHTS you will need new H4 connectors on the head lights them selves .
the connector with the R 's are the front side light and could possibly be the tail light feed connection point and you should have a R at the dash from that connector (check with meter) ,I know from previous images that you have the two GR and two GW indicator wires at the dash and they appear to be a part of the drivers side ,is the GR long enough to reach passengers indicator lamp and do they go to the rear indicators (check with meter) hope you get what I'm
saying

UR and UW go to dash UR is connected to one of the spades on light switch, UW is not connected to anything yet. Yes GR and GW indicators at Dash, can extend GR to reach passenger side. Can't see a R going in to dash but will check tonight. Will get some h4 connectors for bulbs. Hope I've got all that right, trying to type on phone.

UR and UW go to the column switch UR connects to white on column switch UW connects to Yellow on column switch with a link wire to one of the two Black/red for the flash circuit and another wire to the main beam warning lamp normally UW, the other Black /Red requires a feed from the AUX fuse box. A wire from the lighting switch goes to the Black on the column switch normally U blue
the indicator need a GR goes to Black/White on column switch GW goes to Black/Green on the column switch and the feed from the flasher unit normally light Green /Brown goes to Black / Yellow on the column switch the flasher unit is fed from the ignition fuse box
a wire from AUX fuse box goes to the Brown on the column switch the other Brown goes to the horn on the Brown/ Black the other side of the horn being earthed

Thats Great Mate Thanks, starting to get my head round this now.
Right so I have the UR and UW going in to dash,
m
My UR at the mo goes to the light switch, should I take it off and connect to white on column switch or should I join it to both ?
The UW that goes to Yellow on column switch, do I link this one wire to both Black/red and the main beam warning lamp ?
Flasher Unit
sure mine has 3 pins will check though, so a wire from Flasher to ignition fuse box ? and one to Black / Yellow on the column switch ?
Getting Lights and H4 Connectors tomorrow.
Thanks Again Mate ,We are nearly there .
As soon as I shut my eyes to go to sleep all I can see is different wire colors :)

yes UR remove from light switch connect to White on column switch don't forget you will need to run a new Blue cable from light switch to Black on column switch
yes the UW from light circuit the UW from main beam warning lamp and one of the Black/Red on the column switch are linked and they are attached to the Yellow on the column switch
you will require a wire from Aux fuse box for the other Black/ Red on the column switch to feed the flash circuit .
Did you sort out a panel lamp for the indicator warning lamp the third pin of the flasher unit needs to connected to this (normal marked P for pilot lamp ) not sure what type you have
they are normally + feed ( Ignition) L load ( Feed to column switch) P ( Warning lamp)

Thanks forgot about that,
so one wire from lamp to Flasher, does other wire go to earth ?

Don't assume Black is Ground White is definitely Dipped ,looking at at the back of h4 bulb the righthand pin is normally Main beam which
would make Yellow Ground and Black Main beam .It would be advisable to test with the bulb fitted and a temporary connection to battery to confirm

Got a few wires connected tonight Including both Aux wires one to a Black /Red on column switch, the other to Brown on column switch.

Pic of my Flasher, 3 pins, does one of these go to Ignition Fuse Box IF1 ?

UW
from light circuit the UW from main beam warning lamp and one of the Black/Red on the column switch are linked and they are attached to the Yellow, Whats best / easiest way to link these 4 together ?

Tested H4 bulb on connector to battery, Black to negative and Yellow to positive , bulb works, but also works if I put Yellow to negative and Black to positive

IF YOU GROUND THE YELLOW CABLE AND PUT A FEED ON WHITE IT SHOULD LIGHT AND PUT A FEED ON BLACK IT SHOULD LIGHT IF NOT GROUND BLACK AND PUT FEED ON YELLOW AND THEN WHITE THEY SHOULD BOTH LIGHT I'm in the process of wiring my column switch and the large connector supplied was removed and I used open barrel male and female crimps and PVC shrouds .NOT SURE OF WHAT SELECTION OF CRIMPS YOU HAVE you could combine the column switch B/R and B in one female connector and the two U/W'S in a apposing male connector ,or use bullet crimps and a two way bullet connector to join the cables

Great going up later to get as much as I can joined together,
You mentioned the 2 Reds that connect together on drivers wing side, and asked if a Red went up to dash, from these Sorry forgot to tell you but Yes it does, where does this Red connect in panel ?
THANKS

red connect to lighting switch and panel lamps connect to same terminal on position 2 sidelights and panel illumination , position 3 headlights , position 1 off

Connected all wires from Column Switch and also to Flasher. Not started Headlights yet but is there a way to test it now, to see if anything is working?
