it is one but wether numbers been used for something else if you dont find out about no i look it up tomorrow

cheers for that, all i can see is that the number i have equates to series 3 LWB soft top which is very weird??????

Is the number on the V5 or actually on the chassis? If it's on the chassis it's possible someone's put a good 2a body on a good S3 chassis and made two rotten vehicles into one good one. Should have kept the reg number that went with the chassis, though. Of course, it could be a deliberate ringer......

the number is on the v5, however the chassis looks like a 'd-f' version. The area where the chassis number would be has alot of welding. Would it help to post some chassis pics?

Added some chassis pics, they are probably useless though

I think you're doomed here..theres no way of finding out what the original chassis number was by the looks of things..and the reg doc is, as you are aware, giving a series 3 number. Dont know what to advise really...you cant remove that from the v5 and even if you could you have no number to put on.

the weird thing is the v5 says the registation date is 1961, and that was the date the chasis number was added, how on earth does that happen. Think I will go to the series 2 club, and see if they can work their magic. although only gave £500 for it hopefully I can break it if necessary, would be a shame.

might be worth looking for a 2a log book on ebay, and swapping id,not ideal but at least it stops the ringers using it.

They are not the right wings, the guy said that when i picked it up, apparentlt he bought the wrong ones :crazy_driver:, there are a load of other bits two
