both - it is D-I-Y but yu need to take extreeme care - yu under the wrong bolt - yu bugger the gearbox.

He'll be back to selling it again now. All that persuasion fer nuffin.:D:D:D

I think she's survived the stay of execution, all things considered. I think I'll get the gearbox fluid changed and hope for a 200,000 miler! :D

Anyone know if this is a D-I-Y job, or a tad more challenging?

Oscar - I was quoted £90 quid by an Independant to do mine last year.

Get ye down to your local Roberts or some such and pay them some dollars to change the oil if ye not sure (i would not be sure). Gets it done properly and they needs the work to survive le crunch - then stop worrying about it all. :)

My Garage charged me around £60, though they were delayed for a couple of days as they could only get the fluid from Landrover. Initially their usual supplier said he could provide, then changed his mind. The level has to be spot on as overfill or underfill is harmful. Get a specialist to do the job & then forget about it & enjoy your Landy.
