Someone suggested to me that I wire a hidden switch connected to another coil in with a spark plug in the fuel tank of my series one... That sounds a bit messy but I suppose would stop any repeat offending!

How crazy would you have to be to do that, doesn't take much for a wire to short / break / switch to get knocked / forget.

hi there
might have been covered but i bought a complete pedal lock from adrenalin 4x4 ( think i splet taht rihgt) they are based in treeton sheffield

similar to the pedal clamp but the clutch rake & gas pedal are completely covered over & only a sustained attack with a lost of noise made will get it off i'm sure

can post pictures if required i collected mine direct & he charged me £ 70 all in

just a thought

Yep it's been covered & £70 is a rip off price to pay. I can get ya one for less than £60..

Take off handbrake, leave in gear, lock but leave starting handle in the front (will only work when engine is very hot mind!

get a drive post or 2
ive got a nice 9"thick iron one going 2 foot into the ground not even my rangie could knock that down. got it from my local supermarket when thay re-did the carpark built to withstand ramraders
mind you ive done my back in lifting it out once...its the price you pay

Wheelclamp??
iya guys thanks for the ideas some quite interesting ones coming out lol

Kids - no thanks, only just got rid of the nephews and nieces after a few days holiday (need a break for a few weeks to recover)

Infrared seems like a good idea, and wouldn't mind doing something similar within the ol' girl that would alert me via mobile or pager of some sort, just i don't think the council would take to kindly hacking up a main road to install sensors.

ok it wasnt a landy but when i stitched copper wire in the drivers seat and ran that off an ignition coil triggered by a micro switch on the steering colum cowling in my transit the little sh1tt in question ended up in hospital for serious electrical burns
my other old tricks worked well on me series 3 put dowels in the track on the doorglass so it cant be slid across from the outside nor can you get the dowel out with a coathanger like you can undo the ****ty catch
my other was to put a fuel shut off tap on the main fuel line near the fuel tank under the drivers cill theyll never find that fukker and whats more on just the fuel thats in the carb theyll more than likely get stranded on the main road a few hundred yards from your house causeing an obstruction so the police will have to get off their arses and come to tell you to move it
failing that a seacondary cut out switch thats wired backwards to the main fuse line so when the fu88ers find it thinking its the right one itll pop evry fuse on the van going nowhere
regards john

why dont you concrete the wheels into your driveway and weld the wheelnuts up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! faaaaaaakkk ..i think you already got it covered with the devices you already got on there ...... if you need to use it on monday mornings you must start unlocking it on friday...lol with all that security it would be easier to hiab it away ...LMFAO

funny you should mention that me mates was stolen bout 3 yrs ago while he was in the middle of an axle change haveing got dark and still no axle on the beast he thought it was safe for the night the next morning he got the call from the police asking if hed scrapped it and if not does he want it delivered back to home as the theives had hiab'd it on an old builders truck and were pulled by the cozzers for an unsafe load ( the expression thick as theives springs to mind)
regards john

/\ Genius!!! :D

Landmines?

Failing that I had a cheapo alarm from ebay - totally ****e as an alarm but had a pager function that worked well when the alarm was triggered...

Unfortunately, there is no 100% rule in protecting your Landy, as the old saying goes, if they want to take, they'll take it. Your best bet is to use lot's of protection - GPS trackers, Alarms, Posts on Drive, Dogs, Cameras, Locks on Clutch, Gears, Steerings wheels the lot. The more the better.

I've been thinking about fitting some sort of dead-bolt system, turning the whole door into essentially a locked panel. It's probably a bit technically out my league though. Thought it could work like some safes and just run it through the door and into the tub.

So they would go through another door / window... Fraid to say i don't think it would be worth the effort
