Hi

My name is michael and I am a explorer scout leader from edinburgh who has for a long time been interested in landrovers. Recently we were offered a 3.9 range rover for free as it needed some welding for MOT. This was ideal for us a we were going to use it as a project teach the scout about engines welding and maybe modifiy it slightly. Unfortunately this fell through and I am now on the hunt for new project vehicle.
I was wondering if anyone could offer me any advice on where to look for such a vehicle, ideally free, I know thats a bit cheeky, but we do have some limited funds and should be able to collect depending on how far away it was.

Any help would be great

thanks

:welcome2: from an ex-scout. Doubt that there's much outside a scrap heap that you'll get for free. I'm lovin the idea that you've got and wish that we had done something like that!!!

its seriously unlikely you will get one for free, unless someone is feeling generous. The least you would pay is scrap value, just head down a scrap yard there should be several early Discoverys there that you could get welding on for atleast 100 years

hey guys thanks for the replys was kind of hoping of one with some welding needed as that one of the things I thought we could try to teach the lad. As I said I know it was cheeky asking but thought it might be worth a try. As i said someone did offer me one but was too late in getting back to him about it, pity as it was a minter bar the wee bit welding needed for the mot. Where about can I find a something for £300 mark even on ebay MOT failures poeple look for more than that

cheers
