so conduit looks crap? i spose a four inch plastic tube with a goldfish bowl on the top looks good, duz it - or should all the snorkels be removed coz they dont "look nice"?

barking up the wrong tree with that argument
a snorkel is designed to aid breathing in water conditions and not to try and hide summit
a conduit slapped on the outside of your motor is to hide wiring that you cant be botherd to rout up the in side of your motor
i spose you could always attach the conduit to the motor with brown packing tape that might look nice

But won't sticking a piece of conduit on the side of yer deepender spoil the clean aerodyneemic streamlining of yer tratter. fink about what it'll do to yer fuule comsumpshun.. Much better to just have a few bits of wire taped to the roofbar. Kids'll nevva be able to cut the wires then!!!!!

So who mentioned " slappin " eh??

you wanna stuff a bit o 3 core hoover flex under yer trim then fine !

But i seem t remember the shifty askin for help on "installing" his lights !
my responce was given, based on electrical installation methods, which if carried out correctly, would negate the use of bungin holes full o ****in gunge to stop water ingress and make it more asthetically pleasing as well as funtional.

****wit !

Aye !

i wer fergerrin bout the airydynamics pikey !

GAFFERTAPE THE ****ER ON !

so the advice given to rout wiring on the inside of the motor and not on the ouside should have been the best advise the least amount of wiring on the outside of the motor has to be better anyone with electrical knowledge would know that
dip****!!

and what do you do at the end of the conduit where the wire exits?
put a grommit or seal it with silicone?????
if so you might aswell do this on the roof

Fer****sake !

WHY???If yer look at yer ****in landy MOST the tw@ttin wires are on the outside !! and in plaggy conduit !

DOH !

Aye yer want wireless driving Lamps reely.. Then yer wunt hav no wires visible?? FFS Wilted lardyass grow up The OP said he had a problem with kids cutting the wires. How the fook does your preferred option stop them from doing this. At least with the Munkees method They'd struggle to get at the wires to cut!!

you can see 2" of the wiring to my spotlamps
and no the original point wasnt about kids cutting wires it was about installation.
surely kids can rip of a bit of conduit off but can they reach the roof as easy

Oh so yer bit of ****in hoover flex int terminated at the light ends then ?

why the **** dyer wanna do aything at the ends o the conduit ? its there for protection an to aid a neat install yer go bungin bodge in the ends its gunner fill wi water innit ?

neat???
i think weel have to aggree to dissagree on this one and leave him to make his own mind up on which way he wants to install his wiring.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can run a cable (seven core trailer cable) from the dash to my roof lights that is unobtrusive and secure?

Or this

The reason I thought about making the hole near the centre of the roof is because the local kids think its hillarious to cut cables and snap aerials on the cars around here. The little f**kers cut the cables to the spotlights on my Volvo and used the broken aerial to scratch their stupid tags in to the paint on my bonnet.

If yer gonna reply to posts. At least learn ta fooking read Furst. Yer inbred sack of dog ****e..

Glad I asked the question now.
Not had such a laugh for a long time. Better than the telly.
I'm going to get one of them IP67 waterproof gland thingies and seal the cable through the roof that way. I'm sure silicone works just fine but like Mondo and Mad Hat say do it once do it right.
If I decide to remove the lights at a later date then I can use a blanking grommet to bung the hole up.
I've found about 3 metres of some heavy duty 3 core cable in my shed (probably taken off an old Hoover ;) ) so I'll use that.
I've got a couple of Ford Cortina heated rear window relays which will do the job so just need to look out for some decent switches.
