Get a voltage meter and check voltage at the relays
You can learn a lot from someone’s bad wiring.
your Fault finding improves, saves you money
And any changes you make you know how to fix them next time
In my experience the thing you usually learn from other people's wiring is how not to do it...
EG. On my Disco 2 a previous muppet's wiring between the bumper mounted LED light bar and the battery consisted of THREE joined lengths of twin core cable! He added an extra switch on the electric seat switch panel to isolate the electric seats. The excuse was that his dogs kept pressing the standard buttons when left in the car and it would flatten the batteries. ACTUAL reason was because if you didn't isolate his bodged wiring it would produce a parasitic drain on the battery and given seven days of not using it you'd find the battery so flat the doors wouldn't unlock using the key an no lights would come on on the dashboard when you switch on the ignition!
