Hi guys. Bit of a annoying rather than major fault. Put new batteries in my key fob today. Can somebody tell me how to re sync it please

Regards

To resynch to doors I think you'll find you put key in drivers door lock and let go with key in central position press and hold lock button on fob while still holding it turn key in lock anticlockwise to lock position and then still holding button in back up to central position, then let go of button. Now press and hold unlock button and whilst holding it turn it fully clockwise and then back to centre then let go of button then remove key from lock. That should if I'm right resynch key to central locking. I think you then have to possibly synch to ignition can't remember the exact sequence for that I think it's in handbook

Does your RF receiver work as this is needed for the resync to work.

Also if the BeCM is in an alarmed state it wont take!

Ok. Thanks for the post but I am a right novice at this and I don't know wht any I them things are sorry

The rf unit is what picks up the signal from the key, it is located under the plastic trim behind the rear seats on the drivers side. Common problem is the aerial lead to it is disconnected to prevent battery drain but this means the key sync wont take.

Check the rf unit has the blue lead attached to it. If it has, time to delve deeper into the BeCM or if it is the older rf unit it could be losing its marbles!

To resync mine with the aerial disconnected I just press the lock button next to the window and then unlock the car using the key, doesn't seem to need to be held while turning the key.

If its alarmed then you'll need the EKA code to disable the alarm and from then you can sync it by locking with the button and then locking using the key. Then the key fob works and you can unlock it as normal.

If its MY1999+ then you can sync key fob by putting it in the ignition and turning it to ignition click #2. Otherwise you can only do it in the door.

You can turn the key in the drivers door in any direction and then press any of the fob buttons within a few seconds. The sync is performed when the BeCM registers the door latch move and a fob button press within a certain timeframe.

If the door method fails, you may have broken microswitches in the door mechanism from years of slamming. This normally means a new door latch mechanism.

You can test the fob transmitting and the receiver is receiving by watching the small red light on the gearstick indicator, it will light up for 2 minutes when you lock or unlock.
