Any ideas? I'm fresh out

As long as all splines on shafts and in diff, and those tripoid things are good. No sorry all out of ideas.

The only other(long short) the brake stuck on enough to simulate a wheel bogged down and 1 spinning?
But then you have all the gizmos TC which should have picked it up surely:oops:

Apart from that if all is good when you put it back you know it’s good.

Can you change that bearing in the tube? Look like a right faff to try and get that out.

Has your welder got back to you?

J

Just been musing on that r.e brake holding that one wheel...dunno it'll all back together with new driveshafts so should be fine :rolleyes:

No, not a word from welder. I've got the number of someone who my MOT tester knows from years ago, spoke to him today, he can't get me in for about a month he's rammed out with MOT work. Suits me, I can get some funds behind me and treat offside properly in meantime

Edit
@marjon they said that bearing in the tube is ok, might replace tube anyway

Expensive paint job!:p new bearings throughout, new seals and shimmed up. Tomorrow's job...

Been attacking the rust on the drivers side this week between work and life  passenger side is gonna be put back for a month or 2 until I'm flush and welder is available.

This is process I used, just pics of sill to show stages but same method in wheel arch and underbody.

Weapons of choice

Drill attachments are handy, about £7 from screwfix for 3 different ones. I've had em about 2 years. Useful for nooks and crannys but can't beat a wire brush and elbow grease ;)

So inner face of sill wirebrushed and cleaned with white spirit

Rust converter scrubbed in with a cut down paint brush. This was still wet, it goes a lovely black colour and looks right after 2 coats.

Then a coat of hammerite scrubbed in

Dow look pretty but its doin a job :p a coat of waxoyl to slap on tomorrow and job done. Very little rust anywhere else which is good I suppose.

Got the compressor back on before work so diff and driveshafts in tomorrow, waxoyl the drivers side sill and rear arch/underbody, all the trim back on and hopefully it'll be wheels on the ground again

Fingers crossed the welder gets in touch so u can then at least get that bit sorted out

Plus the recon diff will be the end of ur issues

Just feel for u mate having to go through all of that and soon back on the road

Waxoyl on after work. Much better, sill looks lovely as well now. Can't wait to do other side once it's welded

I'm happy now, I think I've done all I can this side to stave the rot off for at least a year or 2. OK, it wouldve been nice to use BH or Dinitrol but time and funds didnt allow that and i was caught with my pants down with this rust. Not bad for a tin of kurust and hammerite I had in the garage (recent buy for the railings, missus doesnt know yet) and £14 for 2 aerosols of waxoyl.

If she's good to me for a while, I'll do the chassis as well, especially if I end up doing rear arms
