Much better, sill looks lovely as well now. Can't wait to do other side once it's welded

I'm happy now, I think I've done all I can this side to stave the rot off for at least a year or 2. OK, it wouldve been nice to use BH or Dinitrol but time and funds didnt allow that and i was caught with my pants down with this rust. Not bad for a tin of kurust and hammerite I had in the garage (recent buy for the railings, missus doesnt know yet) and £14 for 2 aerosols of waxoyl.

If she's good to me for a while, I'll do the chassis as well, especially if I end up doing rear arms

Great job there

U might start swearing when u do the rear upper arms, you’ll see what I mean when u do them , may god and all holy be with u, lol

I can only begin to imagine :( positives in everything though Gary, ive already done the front uppers and the lowers were done in 2013 so hopefully be ok for a bit

Only thing is, there's play in all rear arm bushes and the offside rear upper ball joint is split one side :D buhhh happy days eh

Oh yes , your not wrong there , am still wondering if that long reach zip saw will be quicker than a recip saw, took me 20 x high quality blades to cut through the bolt, as there hardened bolts as well , was a complete @&&@#&# due to lack of room

Fingers crossed u don’t get the grief I had, bolts were seized solid

Perfect , thought u had and hope u didn’t mind me saying , did see a pic where someone had fitted a cheap drop link, he got to the end of the road before it snapped

I'm already sussing the job out. Think I'll cut the arms right down then get the grinder in on the bolt, even if its a 2mm cut just to get a head start then go I'm with a saw. That zip saw you're looking at looks the dogs bollox lol.

Giving the grief I've had at the rear end (fnarrfnarr!) I don't hold out much hope the bolts will come out the sleeves!

Think you sent me that pic of the snapped link, that's scary man they shouldn't be selling them

These the wires you were on about the other day @lynall ?

Just need to fill diff with oil, put trims back on drivers side and get it off the stands. But I've been summoned to the mother in laws for an hour

That might work, but what rubs is the short wire tails themselves as they come out of the conduit, I wouldnt advise bending them if you can avoid it as they are very thin.

Can you put some round sleeve over the end of the conduit ... I like to use standard outer insulation sleeve from mains cable, (a dead Vax actually), slit and popped over it works ... if it's loose a dab of Superglue holds it on ...
