Since then which was just over a week ago i removed the springs and shocks from the axles and we ordered the new chassis which we should be collecting in 8-10 weeks time then in the next few weeks we will be rebuilding the axles ready for when the new chassis comes :)

Looks like good progress. Don't forget to get the engine & gearbox mount brackets off the old chassis before you throw it away.

Scrapman came yesterday chassis gone now
Does he want to come up here? We have to pay them to come and take scrap now, about £100 for a scrap car at the moment. That's very unheard of up here, used to be they'd pay you back in the good days and take it for free any other time.

Anyway, looks like a good project even though the guy did get screwed over on the purchase, he should have had you along with him to look at it first!

Yeah i think he thought because it was for his Daughter and my son's wedding at that price it wouldn't be that bad but he doesn't seem to be that fussed and wants to help out building it back up once we get the new chassis.

The scrapman is a registered scrap metal collector and comes round our way about 2-3 times a week in his tranny pickup i used to weigh them in myself but they are not worth as much now so i just let him have what scrap i have, he mite be having the 2.25p engine yet :)

How long do you think he will last? :D

New chassis should be here in a few weeks so as i am off for a week in a weeks time i will start stripping the axles down to rebuild ready for when it comes, can't wait now :D

Just remembered i need to send my throw away camera in to get the pic's developed of the 2a being stripped and buy a couple more for the 2a being put together :)

New parts waiting on the bench to be fitted to the axles sometime this week ready to fit to the new chassis when it arrives in a couple of weeks, I haven't started the axles yet as I have had two last minute jobs landed on my lap one a mates car to service ( waiting for parts to arrive by son tonight ) so mite do it tomorrow to get it out of the way and two weather permitting replacing the water pump on sons car tonight so I will start the axles later in the week
