I have not been faffing I’m very ill and trying to find a mechanic around Worcestershire is a joke, I’m more than capable of doing this job normally, I’m just in need and found there is no help from a garage these days they just want to plug in a laptop

I don't think Mark meant you but the garage that's been working on it. You've got it right about the laptop,70% is diagnosis,old school spannering is becoming a thing of the past.

Easy job.

I'd throw the new joints in the freezer for a few hrs beforehand just to make it a tad easier to press in.

Yes it’s a great tip, I will do this another person suggested it too, I will also use some heat to help the old ones out,

With a bench grinder, just soften the leading edge on the ball joint casing. It reduces any ill alignment.

That looks like it will do the job, make sure you lubricate the threaded part of the tool as Mark said.My kit advised using CV joint grease,the really black ****ty stuff.

Axle grease we called it down pit. Used to water proof me boots with it. Bugger to get of your skin though
