I just bought a PSI Powerbox for my P38 (2000 BMW). You clever blokes seem to say it's a piece of cake to fit. NOT by me it aint!

The connector under the manifold I think I can do (haven't tried yet, engine too hot) but the others.....

It says "Place the small connectors from the powerbox on the pressure sensor shown on the last picture" The "last picture" is actually not from the RR but from a similar engine in a BMW. I just can't find this presuure sensor (thick).

Now, you can have a laugh if you like, I don't mind, as long as you explain where it is, in simple terms so someone like me can understand. Perhaps if you tell me in a way that you would explain to the wife? I'll probably get it then.

I hope this box does what it says on the tin. (or should that be I hope this tin does what it says on the box?)

Thanks for your help guys

hi,its easier to get at the connector under the manifold if you remove the bracket that holds the oil cooler pipes in place, after that its dead easy, not sure over the pressure sensor fitting as my psi box does not have that wire on it,i think the sensor is on the fuel filter, but check this out first before you go cutting/connecting anything though.

hi, on the psi box has it got a tube and the main connector plug or two wires, one the main plug and a smaller wire.

The absolute manifold pressure sensor is on the front of the fuel filter housing, it has a tube going to the rear of the inlet manifold, not sure if thats the pressure sensor you are refering to tho.

yes this is what i am trying to find out from the guy,my psi has the tube type sensor, but i sold another psi box to someone and it had two leccy connectors and no pressure sensor??

Hi Guys, sorry for delay, I'm more confused now. Tried to copy the instructions to here but that wouldn't work. If someone could look at them for me I would be happy to send them through. As I don't know what I'm doing it's difficult to answer questions!

Basically the instructions start off by saying: (I quote):
"You have to connect the connectors from the power box between the connector coming from the injection pump and the cars wiring loom".
There are two lots of cable coming from the Power box, each with two electrical plugs on the end. No tubes (that is to say only a tube that the cables go through).
Two of the plugs are round (about 3 cm in dia), one male one female. The other two are smaller rectangular plugs.

Does this help?

Thanks - Rob

ok,the two large plugs are when you take the plug out from underneath the manifold the plug you removed goes into one of the plugs on the powerbox, the other one goes back into the socket under the manifold,as to the other plugs i would need to see a picture of them to figure out where they go,ok.

is there anyway you can send me a copy of the instructions.

Thanks Gemsdad that is really helpful to me. Now I know the round one's are under the manifold I will look see if I can find the "Pressure sensor connectors" tomorrow.

These smaller plugs again are one male and one female, The female replaces a connector you have to unplug from the pressure sensor and the connector you have unplugged plugs into the male connector from the Powerbox.

Trouble is, these boxes are made in Belgium (I think) and the instructions are not in very good English. Until recently they were sold by a company called PSI Powerbox - but they no longer stock them, they are now sold through suppliers but come from Britpart.

Thanks again for your help, - Rob

if you look on the fuel filter i think you will find that the smaller plugs go on there, check first though.
