yeah think your right have never seen one let alone used one until i pulled that out of latest acquisition

Okay so got stuck with my 90 pump timing belt etc.

so had to wait for help so thought i would investigate my 110 project

so with one duff diesel tank thought i would fill the other to the brim ready to remove the knackered under seat one. So used the farm diesel pump, filled it up Brim full,

Popped it on the ramp, then help arrived with the timing belt on 90, busy working away and then someone walked in and highlighted the 110 on the ramp, or more importantly this

so had to attempt to drain tank, winner bolt came undone ok but i got covered in diesel.

so now i need two bloody diesel tanks.

back one i believe is a standard 110 tank

side one is either 90 or an auxiliary 110 tank difference mainly seems to be in the price...lol

Well Rave lists the twin tank layout for my 110 3 door and and the rear tank has a top pipe.

so is my new tank a different tank or can i make it fit

what does the other pipe that is blocked off do ?

yep spoke to the suppliers today

the one delivered to me fits early models only, part no NRC7570

and i need the later model WFE00190

supplier were brilliant as ever, have arranged a swap and the new one is on the way.

had to buy the cradle as they are not included in that model but very happy with their customer service.

New tank delivered yesterday

fitted it today
proper pain trying to get rubber bushes, tank and cradle lined up and bolted together

took me the missus and a mate to manage it, gave up with the gearbox jack and just wrestled it into place

maybe no. plates tomorrow and drop the drivetrain fluids

got the timing belt to do but not looking forward to that given the issues i am experiencing with my 90

Sounds rough...
Peg/pin all the correct points on pump/flywheel etc. 1/2 cut the old belt around then slide on new belt.
Remove old belt fully tap on new belt.

a mate turned up with his old bumper, (he has a new winch bumper )
He fitted it and put the front no.plate on it, while i was wrestling with my fuel pump issues on the 90

2 new rear indicator lights

All drive train fluids drained and refilled.

Rear no plate fitted.

Left to do..
timing belt, rear fog light and windscreen wipers and washers

also trying to work out which way the tap goes per fuel tank.

also discovered it has what is i believe a gearbox cooler fitted

Has a grill width cooler in front of the main rad behind the grill

and two pipes that run to back of gearbox, see photos

tinkered with teh wiper today

think the motor might be stuffed.

blows a fuse everytime i try it

Have had the dash half out

WD40 everything obvious

Fingers crossed it works tomorrow

Fixed the Horn
and discovered Rear Fog & Reverse Light don't work either
not a fuse so need to run my meter on those

Also cant work out which tank is which on the tap.
thought i would prove it and take the sender out of side tank as it was easy to access

makes no odds which way i turn the tap then gauge don't work

So either gauge is bust
switch for tanks don't work or the feed is broken between the two

More dabbling in the workshop, did spend an hour on my 90 as well..

MOT seems to get further away...lol

Wiper motor works fine when disconnected from the cable

think either cable is siezed in tube or certainly stiff took a lot of pulling even with it all out on floor

drivers side spindle is not right..

and the wiper wheelbox on that side fell to bits when i loosened the bolts

Also stripped this out as well ready for the timing belt

had a mission to get it stripped, some clown had put the jubilee clips in an awkward place and they were knackered

Radiator looks had it as well..

reckon i also might need some swivel seals but will send pics of that tomorrow.

Top day out gets more expensive by the day...

and do i bite the bullet and put new brakes at same time..

well managed to get the belt done and the vehicle en route to being back together.

The 300 tdi is def easier to do a timing belt on
Got some marking on the cover, looks like it has had some belt running on it at some stage in its life

so have ordered a big heap of bits today

New Radiator
wiper wheelboxs
wiper cable
new wiper spindle
Wiper blades
new LED no plate light
New washer jet
Swivel Hubs seal overhaul kits for both sides

Decided i would do brakes as well

So new
Disc
Pads
Calipers
en route as well..

but figured it needs them

Plus 2 TRE while it’s off ;)

also order another washer jet. Do double washer jet while the dash is off.

Double washer jet ?

i have only one pipe out of the bulkhead, have order a twin washer.

By Plus 2 are you suggesting a 2" lift.

It is on the potential list just not the immediate list that is for MOT

along with some new wheels and tyres but need to ponder that at length re size and wheel offset
265 x 75 x 16
or 285 x 75 x 16

Double washer jet.
Normally you have the jets in the middle hole in the bulkhead, fit jets in the other holes by the wiper spindles. More water onto the screen( wait for the weekend if you want photos ;)) will need a T piece

Bent steering arm.
No it means 2 track rod ends, easier to replace with new ones while that’s off. Saves you a job later.

tyre size.
Closest to 7.50x16 as possible.

your doing well with the builds.keep going.

Thanks for that
pics would be good re washers

work quiet at the moment so making the most of it and the missus is at mine at the min while waiting on decision from Pizza Hut on what they do with her, so she is walking the spaniels, frees me up a bit of time..

would have got more done but keep fliiting between the 110 & the 90

Also Missus car needs some work pre MOT in 9 day so need the 110 off the ramp

might need the 110 in a hurry cant get the 90 to go, bloody thing i am super quick at getting the fuel pump on and off.

getting fairly handy with the DTI gauge and timing the pump too.

belt on and off..

battery on charge hope to give it a whirl tomorrow.

waiting on bits for the 110 just got a bit of electrical gremlins to sort til the parts arrive, fog light reversing light and the fuel tank switch and gauge
