Just found your thread. OK, mines is better than yours :p

You sure it's a safari mate, your seem to missing the badges, front A-bar (should be soft rubbery one). What cloth trim does it have, as the safari has it's own design?

No that it matters really one way or 'tother. It's still a 300 :)

The badg on the other side is a Union Jack, same interior as yours, paint code 639 highland green.

Maybe different spec from the factory?

Trim the same guess it is then. Has the correct wheels as well. Badge should be a compass with "safari" written. When they get to this age no doubt most have been altered somewhat. Mines had just one careful owner (the other three obviously weren't so bothered!) so just four owners who haven't, so it appears, changed much.

I did find a original brochure for it online, I'll see if I can find the link again and post it here.

Hi there Flatline - re the rear seatbelts, they ALL come with 3x3 seatbelts.

The 2 outer ones are lap and shoulder type, the middle one is lap only. Have a good look, it'll be there.

If you really want a centre lap and shoulder belt, that will be VERY difficult to obtain as they were never available on D1 and I can't remember if D2 had them either.

Dave

My premium has a belt for the centre passenger which is attached to the centre of the boot floor.

I've never been able to work out how it works though so it just a tangled mess in the boot.

Re the lights some had working rear lights in both cluster and bumper. Some were bunper only. IIRC you can swapthe clusters for the earlier ones and have both working.

Yep. Mine only had lights and indicators in the rear bumper until I swapped the clusters and I now have 4x rear lights on and 4x rear indicators.

A new problem has just started, when I brake the car pulls right but its not just a little bit,I was going 40mph and I had to turn the steering wheel left to stop it going in the opposite lane.

I'm guessing sticky piston on the from calliper?

Sounds like the left callipers not working as it should. May be worth checking your brake Flexi's too, if they are old.

Had a look at my brakes today and at first glance it looked like engine oil but it was only on the outside of the disc, took the pads out and the outside pad was covered in it.Cant see any obvious sign of leaking but it lt could be coming from the pistons.

Didn't take the calliper off as it has a solid pipe (this is what gets replaced with braided hoses right?)

I cleaned it all up and it no longer pulls to one side, can't see any fluid on the floor and there is only a little bit on the inside of the rim,the brake fluid level is a smidgen under the minimum line so it looks like its lost some.

Do you thnk the calliper will need a rebuild? Ill need to buy new pads and some dot4,worth getting hoses to replace the pipe?

Your flexible hose is indicated here, attached to the rigid pipe on your caliper. I wouldn't change the rigid one for anything but rigid.

You need to clamp the hose off first before undoing the union nut on the rigid pipe if you want to remove the caliper.

You can buy kits to overhaul your calipers, or you could just buy a new caliper.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers for the reply, the brakes were apparently swapped for some from a defender, should be a code on the calliper right?

My rear door sub speakers are fecked and my plan to sort the sound out is as follows lol

Get rid of the sub and fit a chequer plate to the tailgate, replace the rear pillar speakers with some that will give me some bass and move them to the back doors.

I'm sure I've seen some pics of speakers in the rear door cards but can't find any on ebay so ill just "make" them fit.

Should all work right?

In the end I bought some speakers to replace the rear ones and some kenwoods to replace the front ones, bought an amp and sub box but didnt think to ask how big they were and they're fecking huge, way to big for what I want.

I'm going to get two more of the small kenwoods for the rear doors and a little amp so I can use the rear pillar ones a subs.

Ordered all the bits to fix my calliper and to do the other one.

My cb came today along with a little stainless steel switch panel with 4 switches so I can fit my electric fan,got so e bolts from college to fit the decat exhaust and ordered a Southdown snorkel :)

Just need two all terrain tyres for the front which I will hopefully have by April as a greenlaning trip is comes g up.

Ill get some pics up tomorrow :)

You managed to find any one to speak to on that cb yet? Honestly a mobile phone is much more efficient!!!!!!!
