Rev counter is dodgy connection on the back of the alternator. Simply pull off the female spade connector clean the male and squeeze the female a little tighter with some pliers and reconnect, all should be well:)

Cheers,rev counter now working :)

Blanked off the egr today and one of the front windows started playing up so I'm going to strip and clean the switch.

Also the handbrake light keeps going on and off, what should I check first?

Cheers

That switch is a royal pain in the ass,you would have thought it would be on the side with all the room but noooo.

Got it out and cleaned it which worked but didnt last long, did fix the window switch and remove a load of cables from some form of Nokia hands free kit.

Just started stripping out the sound proofing from the boot and found this :(

I've got a welder and I've done a bit of welding on my mini but I guess I'm going to have to get a lot better now lol

There are so many aftermarket panels to choose from, which ones are good and which ones should I avoid? Ill need a boot floor but what about the side bits?

Also that handbrake switch is annoying the **** outta me,can you buy brand new ones?

Also how do I change the title of the thread? I want o add to the existing title :)

Cheers

Personally I don't think the supplier of the panels is that important, the installation and rust protection are the priorities for me.

You can get floor panels from Paddocks and other panels (you will need others !!) from places like YRM metals.

Dave

Just been on the yrm sight and they do a boot floor repair kit,not sure if I'd need the underfloor supports or not.I'm hoping its just my outer sills that have a few holes and they are cheap enough.

Found another hole in the passenger footwell and the left hand side, more than likely going to be one on the right also, ill get some pics tomorrow :)

I got my rear side floor panels from yrm they need cutting and shaping, but the bit I cut off was used to patch in all the other holes around the shell.

Sitting in the hallway I have (and the mods are going to tell me off for not putting this in the "For Sale" section ):
  • both floor side panels, but no boot floor
  • 2x ASR 1187
  • 2x ALR 8519
  • LRS 2920
  • LRS 2921
They came with the car but I haven't needed them and the boot floor's now been welded to a point Brunel would have been proud of.

PM me if interested. They don't owe me anything.

I can't get any panels til I sell my other car so I'm going to have a go at fitting the electric fan at weekend, where is the best place to tap into an ignition wire and can I use some of the unused switches on the dash so I can turn it off when needed?

Had a crack at the sunroofs today, managed to getbthenheadliner out with minimal fuss.

Started on the front, the water was getting in under the main seal on the roof and forming a puddle in the metal frame, could only tell when I turned a sharp corner an day dash would get a shower lol.

I sealed it up and refitted the sunroof, won't know if its worked til the next time it rains.Did the same to rear just in case.

While the headliner is out I gave it a good clean with some foam cleaner then vanish spray, looks cleaner but the fabric has come away in places with the moisture from the foams so I need to get some adhesive spray.

Got the headliner back in today and so far I've not been getting an i car shower in the morning which is nice.

Also fitted a winch bumber, absolut pain in the backside getting the old one off as the nuts were rusty and round off, only took ten minutes to fit the ne one lol.

One of th many things to fix on the list I'd the rear windscreen washer doesn't work.

I took out the the cross head screws from the panel but it wouldn't budge, are they sealed in aswell as screwd in?

Its connected to the rear quarter panel. The washer jet twists anticlockwise and pulls out, mine has stopped working think its blocked so ordered a new one.
