Hi guy's
Well I'm new here and have to agree with most of what is said. I bought a 2001 P38 and its spent more time in the garage than on the road. So far in the 4 weeks I have had it the following faults have developed:
Air con didnt work when I picked it up (hole in condensor and paid for by the bloke I bought it from)
Central locking has a mind of its own and decides itself when it will lock / unlock the car.
Run fine on LPG but rubbish on petrol (coughs and splutters with no power)
PAS is noisey (changed pump and no joy so steering box next on the list to change)
Heated seats dont work any more ( we played with them trying them out and then they broke)
all this in 4 weeks so its not fairing too well at the moment. However I had a Mitsibushi GTO twin turbo before which cost about the same new and cost me another £8k getting reliable and to show standard so in the scheme of things they are about the same.
At the end of the day I think you have to put it down to the more you have in a car the more there is to go wrong. And the more expensive the car the more you have to pay to keep it going. So although I have a car that is about as likely 'to be reliable' as 'me coming home from the pub at 10pm' I still think its great.
Anyway, anyone help me with my problems on the car
Cheers
Dave
