That garioch bloke looks a bit shifty though.....Anyways Mr Pikey Kettle calling them crooks:D :D :D

And lets face it from what I've read about them on this and other forums they really are a bunch of crooks and conmen

I would be very careful what you say on these forums, that's a bit harsh and from a legal stand point slanderous.

I understand your point of view and perhaps have had poor dealings with certain people, but I would advise not to make claims in a public forum that could lead you into legal difficulty.

I believe Range Over are based in Birmingham area, so I wouldn't get the work done by them anyway, it's far too far away from me and I believe the time they take to perform the upgrades etc take around 2 weeks....or at least that was what I was initially told.

I am, however, very surprised that they have taken down the prices on their website.

I'm unsure how many people would be put off any potential enquiry without some idea of price.

As other have already mentioned, the FULL BACK and FRONT conversion was initially £4500. If this price structure has now changed and is now actually £3-4K more then as I said previously, will have priced themselves out of a very lucrative 2nd hand Range Rover market....

If a company says we offer a service for £4000 and when you return you find they have lied to you and the real cost is £8000 then that makes them conmen and crooks and If it's true it's not slander is it. Also they may hav trouble finding me in order to serve notice of intended prosecution. So I say Bollixs to the theiving little ****e bags. and bring it on. As an aside if (and it's a big if) I took a RR there and they pulled that **** they'd get the price agreed and a baseball bat across the knees if they tried to stop me taking the vehicle away.

Did they mention why the price has risen from £4500 to £8000? I wish to know myself as I was contemplating buying a kit and getting it fitted locally by Dakar Cars.

With Range Rovers falling in price each year and are considered "un-PC" gas guzzlers and many have given them up due to the congestion charge here in London, raising the price to £8K doesn't sound like good business sense to me.

I did a quick search on Auto Trader and as I mentioned earlier I can buy a 2004 L322 for 15K...perhaps even less if I ask my Uncle to get me one through his car dealership....

Have you heard of the new fully legal and 100% guaranteed exemption from the congestion charge? Loads of people with luxury cars are doing it.

No when I heard about I was stunned by it's simplicity and barefaced cheek.

Nope registering as a minicab. Mini cabs are exempt from the charge anyone can register any car as a minicab. cost £87 and you have to mot it twice a year but thats it. people have been registering porsche, mercs including two seaters, a maybach, rolls, a bently and lots more besides and as minicab licencing is a local council run service TFL can't do anything about it.

Dont yer have to learn pakistani or polish though
nope and cos it's not an hackney licence yer dint have to know yer way round london either. If your driving round london every day that's got to save you a load of dosh. especially next year when they up the charge to £25 per day

Alanforeman, it is true what i said about the prices and speaking the truth, upset rangeover, that is what i did myself, put the money towards a L322 then i had the supercharged kit fitted in Coventry, all genuine range rover parts, i bet they never send my headlamp back now, afterall they sent me a personal message, but i had seen there product and they have done some work for me, which was my headlamp repair, so there official statement was wrong

One of the body shop engineers at Dakar Cars was telling me that he wouldn't be surprised that you could fit real side panels, grilles and bumpers to a P38 as the chassis is very close.

Unfortunately, he never got back to me with his findings.

now i am racking my brains, someone did fit the Overfinch front spoiler and front end from there L322 range of parts, depends on door pillars but i bet it isn't far from spot on. The question is, could you cut a fin appeture in the front wing and i don't think you can as behind the wing is a support, but you never know it might just go. Try Dakar again, they are pretty clued up there. Oh yes, check with your insurance company before fitting fibreglass panels to your rangie, it is classed as a major modification, just the wings though, not the light units

I wonder if anyone on here would know if its possible to perform this properly. To be honest, I'd rather have metal panels than GRP any day of the week. I'd also like to know if the back tailgate and back window can also be replaced with official L322 parts?

The reason why I ask about the back tailgate and boot is that the boot mechanism is different not just the cosmetic looks. I prefer the new L322 back end than the very old looking P38 which is very 90's now. The solution that Range Over provides is a separate button in the cab or a door release key fob...or at least that's how I remember the conversation with Range Over. Personally I wasn't impressed with that solution and if I performed the back end modification, I'd certainly want an all in one key fob release than a separate one or even worse a button within the cab.

As you mentioned about modifications and insurance, if they were replaced by metal official panels and doors, I can't see why it would create great cause for concern and increase any premiums.

Hello Adamroreman,
the rear tailgate won't fit, the roof line is higher then a P38, have a look when you follow one, there is more glass in it and the bottom fits differently. i mentioned about the fibre glass insurance because i still thought you may have the rangeover kit fitted, so if you still have the supercharged kit fitted, just check with your insurance. I am wondering if rangeover would of looked in to this though and would be surprised if they hadn't tried to fit the front wings as well, try ringing rangeover, they may tell you, but i doubt they will talk to me again, i'm going to ask them for my headlamp back and see what response i get. Try and get a pic of P38 and L322 front wing on the rangies and compare.

p38 is a Brill motor looks like a Rangei should big beautiful and grace,,,,,,, And compared to today’s technology a lot less to go wrong, and better to fix yourself rather than taking it to a dealer and then getting ripped off on labour charges and parts, But that is the case will all motor dealers in today’s world better find your self the old school workshop shed types that have been working on 4x4 all there working life’s if you can’t fix it your self and what you pay is half of a dealer and a more personal service one on one, and they don’t mind you asking them for help as I’m always doing,
