Hi Peeps! My long term project P38 is being a pig. Continuing issue with crank no start, it was running fine and then one day... nope! No glow plugs light on dash, no lift pump and no diagnostic connection? I have checked and rechecked wiring and cleaned up footwell loom, tried good fuse box and ecu? Has anyone got pics of the start/stop solenoid wiring next to the HP pump so I can splice in power and at least move the old gal... yep, I now she will be a hard starter with no glow plugs. Anyone in Lincolnshire area with good diagnostics to help a fellow sufferer before I splash out on replacing BECM etc..?

I'd leave the BeCM as a last resort...
Have you checked the connector to the pump loom to see if it's tight??

+1 ^^^^^^ The last thing it's likely to be is the BECM. Have you checked the earth connection chassis to block?
Yep, checked all earth connections. It is a mystery as all electrics are good just crank no start... lift pump, injectors and glow plugs not getting the "work yer bastards!" message?

That sounds like the immobiliser has been triggered. Does it lock/unlock with the FOB?
Or it could be loss of sync between the BECM and the engine ECU.

No immobiliser messages, it did lock/unlock with fob many moons a go. I have a sync mate but that just comes back with an error and no comms?

Loss of sync does not produce a message on the dash. No comms is back to an electrical problem. By passing the stop solenoid is not going to help you as it needs the engine ECU to be operating to inject fuel I think.

Problem is there are no creditable auto electricians in this part of Lincolnshire. A kind forum member sent me a cd rom with wiring diagram which my Wife went and tidied, never to be seen again! Don't know where else to look for wiring issues?

Have you checked the diag port for corrosion and checked the big maxi fuse in the wiring in the ecu box behind the battery.
