If the battery is draining because the car is waking up due to spurious RF signals then yes,it's the blue wire, and you will have to stand by the rear driver side window to be able to use the fob.

It's not drained in my ownership. I'm inclined to leave it unless it does. I believe previous owners lived under a radio mast

I can confirm it now works. Thank you very much.

reccomend I now unplug RF antenna?

I would put a remote jog switch as per Brianp38dse or one of Marty's filters. Unplugging can help but can cause other issues.

Usually it is something like a wireless weather station or security camera.

I think the other issues plagued my previous P38, hence why I'm keen to avoid. I'd rather just park it further down the drive

They had some issues with gen 2 leaking in Europe. That was a few years ago but old stock might still be kicking around.
I have had GEN 2 Arnotts on one of mine for about 12 years, no problem, they still look like new. The problem with faulty crimps was a long time ago. In Europe, I think they are now made by Conti.

The biggest issue is I'm fairly cheap - I actually think my front's look pretty damn good. Rears on the other hand, not so much

Morning update and plans for the weekend.

Got the keys working thanks to Grrrrrr. They do however seem to sometimes just not want to unlock remotely. Sort of working sporadically

Secondly it's in dire need of a thermostat, it's running really cool and only getting to temp up hill. Hopefully that'll regain some MPG and be better for the engine. Hoping it's actually got a thermostat in it

Thirdly it feels like it can't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Some fairly steep but by no means extreme hills up to my house and I'm just loosing speed. On the flat it feels okay

Going to do a lift pump flow rate test, change fuel filter, check the turbo wastegate isn't seized and double check all the boost pipe unions etc. Map hose is definitely connected to the manifold as I found that on the first drive.

It's been sat for 3+ Years, and prior to that done next to no mileage in the last ten years under the ownership of a fairly old boy. So I doubt it's stretched it's legs in a long time.

+ the usual oil and filter change for both gearbox and engine.

So did Dopey. They've changed. I had some a few years ago and they kept popping off. Some guy in France had the same issue. The problem is back! Seems to be the Euro plant and yes, the rubber part is Conti.

Arnott 3 are made in the States and the rubber looks a lot more like Dopey's gen 2 ones. The Arnott 3 is way more robust all over.

Other nasty thing about Arnott is they've changed the push fitting so that once it is in you cannot pop it off again. They say replace the whole airline each time you do the bag! Stuff that.

I'd go Dunlop over Arnott 2 for definite, especially with the price. If you have mobey to blow the. Arnot 3 are nicer and atronger and I hope will last longer.

Service required.

Flush the intercooler. Check the turbo pipes are clear and strong. Check the map pipe under the inlet manifold (goes to the fuel filter area) is good and not blocked.

My temperature guage shows just to the left of 12 o'clock most of the time.

Service definitely required.

I've done all this (minus the gearbox) in my previous P38, hoping to polish it off fairly quickly and get going again.

GEN 3 are a total waste of money unless you are into serious off roading, they need longer travel shocks as well.
For road use the GEN 2 is all that is needed.

I would agree with that although the construction is way better than the (European) gen 2 or the Dunlop and also the ride so they are better even without the extra articulation. They are f*cking ridiculously expensive though. Even if they halved the price they would be expensive but they would be worth a punt at that price.

I stopped using ECP they kept sending the wrong parts out. The S in L had a car blocking a ramp all day they sent wrong parts out five times:rolleyes:

they are known to send the wrong parts if they don’t have something in stock. I only do collection and make sure it’s bang on. I’ve been caught out before!

I think it depends on the branch. Never had an issue yet. The national team are very helpful.

Made the mistake of reading on too many forums of various running cool scenarios. Have I made a mistake getting a Thermostat from euros? Circoli is the brand. I don't want to spend unnecessary money but also end up f**king the car. Previous cars I've never once has an issue with brands of parts

Mine was running cool too and I suspected a 'cover up' during purchase but I still brought it, too much in love I think.:D.
Turned out a stat was in place just failed open. I got a facet one because it was a brand I knew and it had the bypass hole in it.
