Has anybody got a good Viscous fan they would like to sell me - Mine decided to seize up after more than 140,000 Miles -
Can't realy moan at that but it currently sounds like a ww2 Spitfire when its driven.

If the viscous fans working as it should then the "fit a kenlow and save money" arguement is a load of ****.. because for the minimal amount of extra fuel used compared to the cost of buying a kenlow you'd have to do 400,000 miles to get ya money back.

I though they all sounded like an RB211 jet engine! I want to know if anyone has binned the engine driven fan and replaced it with an electric one? That's the way I plan to go. It should improve fuel economy in cold weather too, it did on my last 4 X 4 by more than 2 mpg

Correct Datatec, they run a lot quieter and they do save you fuel. I ran my diesel P38 manual for four years without problems including off road lamping etc. I don't remember what it origionally cost, but it was an easy fit, but make sure you squeeze it well up to the corner of the rad when fitting so theres lots of clearance if the engine moves about.
I could get a genuine 30mpg if I didn't exceed 65mph. Compared to 3/4 mpg less with the unnecessary viscous fan (for moderate use) it would take a halfwit to ignore the saving.
