WElcome and I reckon the D2 is more likely to rust. Having had a few Land Rovers, the D2 was the worst for rust.
P38 is very nice and the most important bit of kit you need is a nanocom (other thingies are available) to fix the electronic gizmos.
I would suggest a V8 or a V8
Brilliant haha thanks!

NO.

Disco is a great car, but a Range Rover is well, A Range Rover!! ;)
I have to agree with you, nothing will beat it. And once you’ve driven one, you’ll never get anything less than it! My Grandfather has a new RR Sport, he looked at changing but simply couldn’t find an equal to it.

A late model 4.6 has all the appurtenances depending on spec, the Early ones are also very nice but can be spartan compared to their latter compatriots . :D

Above is a well spec'd Vogue Interior.:)

Below is a Early HSE.
Big difference.

I have my eye on a 2001 4.6 HSE, good spec and decent condition, leather seats are a must in my opinion.

Leather is all you can get!! :D

Early on you could have velour :D

Oxford leather is a nice rare option to get.

The seats have no piping and are the most comfy seats you'll ever sit in!:D

Oh dear. No equal but several superior.

So you're saying a RRS is better than a Classic, P38, L322, L405, because none of those are Range Rovers?

Addit: Only one not a Range Rover is the RRS, it's a D3 in disguise ;)
Ah I had meant no equal to a Range Rover in general, as in compared to a BMW X5, merc ml etc. Once you’ve had a Range Rover you can’t go back

I agree to a point but the RRS is really a D3 and the other thing(ejoke), that's been around , for a while, wearing a Range Rover badge, is no such thing. As for the Velar it has yet to show it's colours. Although, I did notice the other day how small it is. So may be joining the ranks of "wears the badge but is just an estate car"

Are in my opinion the Real Range Rovers.

The growths that seem to spawn off of the badge aren't worth their weight in **** IMO
1 Evoque
2 Velar

If you buy a p38 you will be addicted you will love it you will hate it and love it again then find yourself looking for reason to use it more than you first think. I have owned 3 p38's all v8's. Still have my 3rd with no intentions of selling and that's including having just bought a l322. As been said the Range Rovers are hard to beat when comes to it I have tried and always came back flaws in all.
