Hi Big vee. I'm just about to try my fleabay lead on the eas. Its a usb connection straight to lap top (also vista). Will let you know how I get on. If it doesn't work we'll be sending cheques off to datatek. Speak later.

Hi Bigvee. Just got my eas software running. You didn't mention what Range Rover you had or the cable connection you've bought. My one is a usb connector. Initially had some problems because the eas connector in passenger footwell had some old dried water muck on it from previous failed o rings. Cleaned it up then followed the procedure I was given (its the Storey Willsons EASunlock software from RSWSolutions - can be downloaded free). Firstly had to set my laptop language on the control panel to English (United States). Then put the disc in. Turned on ignition to 2nd position. Then with stereo, HEVAC and dash all switched on, plugged in OBD and USB. Then ran the software, which will automatically search your device com port. Mine flashed up COULDN'T CONNECT, but advised to configure from EAS dropdown menu. Was using my cable in usb port 6 on the computer, so selected this from drop down menu, and then 'initialise'. Takes about 10 seconds for the syncing procedure and then the Red box next to 'status' turns greens: Good Idle. The 35mph warning on dash will also come up while using the software.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

USB drivers on Vista can be a problem.

Do you mean from leaking pollen filter, O rings are at the other side. :D:D

I stand corrected wammers.

My vista laptop downloaded driver for cable no problem. Just had to configure the com port on the eas software suite - then all ok.

Havn't heard back from Bigvee, so maybe he's got it working, or tearing his hair out.

OK. Sounds same as mine. Connect cable to OBD and USB after ignition switched to second position, then select com4 on the software drop down menue (EAS setup). Good luck with it.

Connect cable, open EAS software and select port, then turn the ignition to position 2 the car should beep and show the 35 mph message, then start the software and it will beep again and you should get good idle.:)

You have no communication. Either you are doing something wrong, the OBD connector has corrosion problems, or more likely, you have a USB driver problem. Contact the cable supplier about drivers for Vista.

Bad cable perhaps? Who did it come from on fleabay? And whereabouts are you? If near Hastings you could try mine. Or maybe another member near you has a cable/software. Or for decent cable speak to datatek.

i have cleaned the obd and can not see any problems waiting to hear back from ebay seller if no joy will get a refund and contact Datatek

Can any thing be done to check the obd apart from visual check

With the wiring diagrams from RAVE and a meter, you can check for continuity on the 4 wires that matter for the EAS, pins 1, 5, 11 & 12. Make sure the battery is disconnected before you play and and you unplug from the EAS ECU.

Hi All need help i have a P38 EAS system seems to be doing auto leveling when switched on or when at road traffic queues ?
