Yes, my software was fiddly as well. Make sure you connect all the things in the right order, then look at the help to change to COM port, I think mine said COM1 but it would only work on COM3, so try each in turn. But if you have someone coming to have a look wait for them to show you, and don't worry about the rest. A software reset will raise the car back up to normal height, and restore normal speed etc., you just have to then see if there is still a problem. Good luck :)

Thanks for the advice. The forum member, who has offered to help has already been and unfortunately we could not manage to make connection with the car computer.
Just been down your way yesterday...Nice part of the country you live in.

Thanks. OK, first there is some software to run to enable the USB converter, without this the serial port (the plug with all the pins on your PC) to USB connector (the flat looking plug) will not work anyway. So you need to run this first. Then connect up the cables, they are pretty wobbly, so make sure the connections are OK. Then when you start up your EAS software it tries to connect. Chances are you are seeing nothing. You need to click on the button top left , I think it may be the "About" button but not sure as I am on a different PC at the moment. This will tell you how to change your COM port. As I said before it may well say use COM1, but don't. Try each in turn, mine only worked using COM3. Fingers crossed ;)

Just checked on my old PC. Having started the software and accepted the license agreement, you need to click on EAS Setup, then Comms. You will see a drop down list of COM1, COM2 etc, try each in turn. When you get one that works you will see the two boxes labeled TX an RX have numbers in them that are scrolling down quickly. This means Transmit and Recieve, i.e. the PC is talking to the EAS. You are now in business and should be able to reset etc.

^^^ just to add to that the status will change from red to green when the correct com port is used... other com ports may make the status flicker red/green ... status must be continuous green
