well guys, it has happend. I now only miss a bolt for my thermostat housing.
The old bolt got drilled out and the threads has been gone over and works as they should.

The remaining things to make my car finished is

Drivebelt
ac belt
the thermostat housing...
filling up with coolant!
bleeding!
honk and drive??

then i got my other projects with it.... :confused:
Fingers crossed it will go as it should, stood for 3 weeks now??

fitting a new battery aswell! (110ah 1000cold cranks! ) That bad boy better not gonna leave me hanging in the winter! :D

Well with that battery you can certainly bonk and drive:D:rolleyes::D
 
Park the front wheel on the coolant expansion tank side on a block will help bleeding. Get it up to temp so stat is open and give the hoses good squeeze

Acetone mixed with ATF makes good penetrating fluid
Got ATF all over my front exhaust pipe, made it shiny like new. So I painted it on the front axle :eek: it did react with the rust came up nice for MOT, but later that year I noticed it had carried on reacting and axle looked worse than the start! Like you told me is damn evil stuff
 
The new battery had bigger poles so haf to buy some larger clamps and cut of the old one :rolleyes: Shop opens tmw so car should be up and going tmw if im not laaazy after a workday. I work shift so last week was a cnt :p
 
Battery fits in the box, just that the connections seem to be a bit more thicker than my old battery. The shop says its «DIN standard connection»

no, i mean i could possibly stretch them way out but i already tried abit of that.

I dont know if i got the guts to stretch them much further, i tried to hammer it down into the connection with a rubber hammer, still only got down halfways. Its getting thicker further down the base it seems like.

No chance the poles are reversed I hope? Very unusual as the post sizes have been standardised for a long time.
 
I got it on now.. just smacked the sht out of it. Prob would gone easier if id use grease ment for batteries but yeh i just smacked it on. My future problem is i will need a prybar getting them off :D

it wouldnt go more down than the first picture, so yeah rubber hammer and a piece of wood made me smack it down quite snuggly..

I’d definitely be looking to replace clamp bolt with a longer one, that nut engagement not good :rolleyes:

I think so too. I think i will just buy a larger clamp which actually fits the connection better and a larger bolt if it dosnt follow with one.

They should pry apart with a large screwdriver. However, you've cracked the essentials of Land Rover maintenance - knowing which hammer to use.
 
The rubber bit was on the handle but he’ll get there :D

Short lived fun tho, filled up coolant and my coolant pipe is leaking, the one by the thermostat housing. Its the one with the yellow oring. Is it important its yellow or does anyone go ok? :D
The heater matrix orings are black…
I were hoping i didnt need to replace the o ring on it bcus i just snugly took it off to get better work area by the bolt i snapped.. :confused:
