I prefer 1:50k for route planning, but 1:25k is better for actual driving or walking cos of the better detail.

Best is to get both on Memory Map, then you can zoom in and out and print you own.

I use Shareara, got the whole of the uk 1:50 and nearly all of the 1:25 ones as well, hasn't cost me a penny. Only downside is the maps are not the most recent editions (most are 2003), but the roads are still in same places!

Affraid i'm got going to offer to copy them all for anyone as there is over 15GB of maps in total!!!

Just tried searching for this on the web but nothing! Is it a file sharing site? I only want a couple of maps around the Derby, and both Peak District ares

It's only any good if you've got broadband and can leave your pooter on overnight, for a few days. When you set it up be carefull what files you share on your computer.
