Thought I would share this with you guys, OS maps has been released for iphone, tracks routes too

For iphone or andriod download maverick lite then change map type to os to be able to chace os maps for offline use

i downloaded this last night onto an iPad mini , looks really good , so thanks for the heads up TD5 x.

I use the View Ranger app. Ok it costs £20 but you get lots if free is map tiles, I have not bought any extra credit yet and have the entire of Cumbria, the entire 96 miles of the west highland way as well as other parts of Scotland and Wales etc, and still have a good bit of credit left.

It's widely used by Mountain Rescue, the team I'm in uses it a lot.

It will track your route and is very accurate and the maps are available off-line.

The best OS map software around as far as I'm concerned

I'm in the process of buying selected tiles of the OS mapfinder , really good for the iPad as it means I only buy the tiles of places where I want 1:25,000 , brilliant , gonna try and record some lanes too .....probably at this point my techno brain will have an epic fail.

Its a bit time consuming but I used local council maps online and pinned the lanes on Google maps. Then used 'my maps' on the ipad to display the pin points.
That way I can see if its TRO etc.

I've downloa all the maps for one of the above the out one, will give it a bash, it works off line so carnt see why it won't put and about.
